I wonder, is this about fielding teams, or is it about fielding competitive AA teams? It seems to me that as programs and communities change, we need to look at whether or not that team should be playing AA. For example, I'm aquaintances with the parents of a young man that lives in south Minneapol...

Sad North Metro no longer has the numbers to field a team. At one time the BPYHA had a strong program...as recently as 2003-2004 made it to Bantam A State. Only positve is the NWSC will now be down to 10 teams (instead of 11) meaning 18 conference games and 7 non-con. (as opposed to 20 conf. games ...

Yeah "ghetto" seems to have ruffled some feathers around here. I'm not a very politically correct person, and it amuses me to see people get so bent out of shape about the most trivial stuff nowadays. Not trying to blanket one demographic or another but just seems that with the eleva...

Checking now banned in pee wee

The most nonsense thing I have heard in a while. Their logic is that these players will be "better prepared" for Bantams. What? Ask anyone who's grown up playing in MN and without any question whatsoever the biggest jump is from pee wee to bantam, and it's because that is the odd age where...

Re: Another Program Gone for Next Year

Just one man's opinion, but changing demographics in those communities is a huge factor. It's alright to say it. Scream it. Does not make you a RACIST. Jeez, we've become so afraid of the label now that we dare talk about race, especially we Caucasians. No, it's not racist. but I guess the ghetto c...

Johnson is going through exactly the same dilemma. I am a tad surprised to see CH and Fridley have difficulty, but I guess the ghetto ...

2012 All State Teams?

When/where are the all state teams going to be posted?

I saw the thread about the all Metro team by Pioneer Press that got locked. I am wondering was that their all state team?

Also, when and where is the Trib's team? The Pioneer Press seems to have been off on a number of things.

Not sure about that, but he is a much better skater that's for sure. I skated against Spehar. I don't really agree. I am far more interested to know if there is anyone here who can tell us about Grant's favorite cartoons and what he enjoys for breakfast. I wouldn't be surprised if some of Minnesota...

Just to clarify here, and trust me I know, Kloos is a hair over 5'9" At the beginning of the season he weighed about 170. The grind of the last 6 months took about 5 pounds off of him. Ideal weight for a kid his size will be about 175-180 at the next level. About the same exact size as Jay Bar...

Re: still

I still can't believe ANYONE is ripping this kid. Is anyone really "ripping" Besse? Only a fool wouldn't be impressed by what he did last week. What I have seen on this board and elsewhere is speculation as to why the Gophers didn't recruit him, and reasonable possible explanations as to ...

Maybe the opposite; maybe being a crappy team would get him more icetime.

Totally agree even though he plays for the Dark Knights :D ! It would be a shame to see him skip his senior year to go get mugged, thumped and banged around in the USHL. He has his full ride and I'm pretty sure the Badgers will welcome him as a true Freshman regardless of where he plays next year. ...

I read in the Pioneer just a bit ago that Kloos did play 12 games in the USHL following his team after their last season and came back because he wanted to finish his prep career with his best friends and at his home school. Looks like it finished pretty damn good and he wracked up some SERIOUS numb...

how can anyone rip a kid that just put up a 5 spot in the State Championship game. If this was last year and it was RAU you idiots would have made a bronze statue of his stick...if this was the all loving Jake Randolph there would be a change from Canal Park to Randolph Park...I mean, come on peopl...

Why not go to the USHL? He won a AA State Championship and scored 5 goals in the final. Got nothing left to prove and there won't be a better way to go out. #16 on H-M was a hack all game. I said early in the game he was bound to get into something with the way he was looking for confrontation afte...

I've already thought of it as an East Side institution, so I agree with you on that one.

Lou is hardly "soft."

Lou defended EVERY huge hit that Hill threw on Moorehead that game. He defended ALL of them. I appreciated that.

Lou IS what hockey is all about.

Re: Too Many Mentions of An Unmentionable Topic

My only criticism of Lou's commentary during the AA championship game was the repeated references to spinal cord injuries. Please know that I wish no one would ever have to suffer from such an injury, and my heart and admiration goes out to people who live impaired lives. But with the Jablonski boy...

Way to rub in the fact that the school is 80+% minority now and therefore the interest in the game is almost history. I never uttered any status nor statistics about JHS current student body, and how their student body consists of mostly minorities. However, I understand your point about why their ...

All Spehar ever did was float, which all this talk reminds me of. Anyway...

As far as Besse, I didn't see a lot of floating, but those three shorties alone are enough to make that an epic effort on his part. Nanne himself said he never in his life remember anyone anywhere getting three shorties.

There's a tremendous amount of loyalty by JHS standards over the years. Must be an East Side/Herb Brooks thing. :? Just face it, rich boy/private schoolers have a sense of entitlement. Over the years, eh? Is it true that Johnson alums still hate HM because they "took" a number of their pl...

Nor do public school kids. Let's just call it a wash. 8) Hmmm, the last five (off the top of my mind right now) that went DI from my high school ALL stayed for four years, even when a couple of them could have left their years on what were average squads by MSHSL standards and went USHL or elsewher...
