What’s the parameters (big word for you Knifey).

- this year’s team?
- all time greatest players?
- Corey Mullen team vs Ken Gernander/Gino Guyer team
The all-timers from both clubs. Take each franchises top 12 forwards, 6 defensemen, and 2 goaltenders and line em up.

CEC all-time vs. Greenway All-time

They play 10 games. Does Cloquet win a game or two?

Nope, we would be willing to welcome any AA teams as well.

I’ll run it by Shea Walters at CEC Hockey.

Re: Virginia Scrimmage Fest

We are looking for 3 teams to fill our annual scrimmage fest on November 16th. Confirmed teams include: Virginia, Eveleth, Hibbing, Princeton, and Cambridge-Isanti. I have a few emails out to teams but I am looking to fill as soon as possible so we can get a schedule and details out. We do our best...

Re: Transfers for 2019-20 season

If a transfer comes to a school, but the school sees the transfer in town before the actual date, does that mean then that the transfer must transfer before the transfer transfers to the school that should have denied the transfer ?

Re: Key player injuries 2019-20

My arthritis is worsening so expect more grammatical errors..... Or were you taking about high school kids and not people who post on here? I would consider Karl, Lee, Elliot, Otown, kniven, etc key players. Lee could be nearing retirement. His heart just isn't in the game these days, it seems. Lee...

Re: Which Varsity programs utilize their JV teams well?

I can vouch for single A teams. Most dont have the numbers for kids to just play varsity. Many play some JV and some varsity, for sure as sophomores. The 3rd and 4th lines are mainly made up of these players. Depends on the program, some even have seniors playing JV just to fill out the rosters Tha...

A few other single A pairings:
Croal/Kerchner (North Branch)
Simon/Mohs-Messerli (Orono)
Konkel/Gustafson (SWCR)
Slukynsky/Meeker (Warroad)
CEC has the Moore, Galatz combo. That combo should be fun to watch on that top line.

Re: 2019 Elite League Rosters

Is Hermantown as talented, more talented, or not as talented on paper than they were last year? Top teams in single A are really, really good this year. Grand Rapids and Hermantown will meet twice this winter. Those will be great games for sure!! 🤓

I’m good. Minnesota high school hockey is my favorite sport. Cloquet, Esko, and Carlton Lumberjacks hockey my favorite sports franchise. 218 hockey is the best and I love cheering for those kiddos. CEC hockey is the best 🤓👍. #myboys

Re: Will Curt Giles ever get his due?

Let's not forget they cut 3/4 of the players that tryout for HS, law of averages and history shows he has more talent as a whole than most schools every year to choose from (except MG from #'s). He should be able to win more consistently. Not saying anything about him not being a good coach, but so...

Grand Rapids boys appear to be very skilled.
7aa may be very interesting.
Clafton make some outstanding saves as well today.
They have 10 players in the elite league? - the most players from a single team in the entire state.

Re: Will Curt Giles ever get his due?

He has a great record as HC for Edina. Tom Saterdalen and Willard Ikola are considered legends. Like Giles, they led prominent programs to several state titles with great players. Giles should be viewed in the same light. Lee Smith as well. So much fawning about Mike Randolph. Why not Giles? He's c...

Shae Walters 2nd consecutive year at the helm for CEC. It will be interesting to see if everything comes together in year two. Or if it’s going to take another year or so to put his imprint on the program.

Re: Maple Grove departures

What is Maple Grove’s issue? They consistently lose elite players to the NTDP, USHL, NAHL, and now with Brandon Reller signing with the Spokane Chiefs the WHL as well. A big time program like that should be having players wanting to come in instead of leaving for greener pastures. Is there somethin...

Re: 7AA 2019-2020

I would agree on Andover/Rapids in the 7AA final. AndoverEast in Semi and Rapids/CEC in the other. Of course I would like CEC heading to state, but I do think it’s unlikely. Could it happen? Absolutely !!! NEVER write of Randolph at East. As long as he is coach the Hounds are always in the top mix....
