Apparently these mods take their jobs real serious as they take down every other one of my comments! Mulefarm must be a 'respected elder' here on the board and have some serious pull in the world of online hs hockey experts! Tiger33-nah, he's all good. Keepyourheadup-agreed on the part about all th...

Last I checked they won the consolation state championship last year. Were in the state tournament the last two years and have been to around 8 section finals in a row. What more do want from a staff other than your kid getting more ice time. Rutt has been coaching there since before his kid was bo...

The classlessness of the 2000 Machine Orange coaches was shining brightly tonight. I cannot understand how parents cannot see through the BS that Jungles and minions spew. These coaches should not be allowed anywhere near kids on a rink. THey are a joke. NO CLASS. Because? Seriously what happened? ...

It all depends on if your program is interested in development of individual players or winning games. East Grand Forks had an a2 team at the bantam level and moorhead had an a2 team at the peewee level this season. Moorhead was right around .500 and competed very well. EGF only won a handful of ga...

Hmm, really???? I suspect if they are in high school at the Minneapolis location, they might be allowed to play for Mpls? And Parade is like literally across the street? I don't know at all, I'm just guessing -- but the point may be moot since most Blakees now seem to come in from the more affluent...

I said that Properly run practices are the way to improve SKILL. Not hockey sense. I agree a balance is necessary, but there are far too many people who think that Playing a game everyday is better than practicing.

As a coach I can promise you that increasing the amount of games is not what will increase skill. Only properly run practices can do that.

Someone else made a pretty good point - would the a MN elite FB team be able to compete regulary with a TX elite team? No chest-thumping required, but imho on average the elite MN class would beat the elite WI class more often than not. Not sure how that's a good point; comparing MN and TX in footb...

Re: checking

I always have been in favor of checking as part of the game of hockey. My viewpoint has now changed since my son has now had three concussions and one broken wrist in the last year of playing hockey. None of these injuries would have happened if checking were disallowed. Your kid could still get hu...
