The old tear down this wall debates on here.... :-({|= I still can't believe there was a time when talented - small association kids -were not allowed to try out for HP.. Minnesota Hockey has had a big time awakening in recent years.!. Some things are much improved! I never knew that about small as...

I have to say I do enjoy seeing people reason away any success a Tier 1 team may have against a Minnesota team. The fact is that Tier 1 is a very good model for the top end player, whether Minnesota chooses to acknowledge that or not. Speculative reasoning as to why a given result occurred is nothin...

David La Va Voque of the Star Tribune reporting MAML only dropped Annandale, will keep Maple lake and have been approved (yesterday) to play in class A. Also reporting Ward is able to stay with team if desired. So are there no players in the youth program from Annandale? I realize youth and High Sc...

Let's just do this: 2017- Move Hermantown up to AA due to being too good. Move MAML up because as the 14th ranked team in Class A they are too good. Class 5A should never have someone ranked in the top 20 in their section. 2018- State finalists Cathedral and Breck get moved up. Private schools, and...

If the logic of playing down is that they can't compete with AA programs, then why did they remain in a primarily AA conference? Not difficult for a team to leave their conference for a lesser one. The group of juniors and seniors has been very successful through youth, including the youth state tou...

Am I the only one confused by the outrage over alleged recruiting of a team that may or may not make the tournament, that has never made the tournament before, from a weak section? This team is 66-90-5 from 2010-2016, so if they are recruiting players for a run to state, they've done a horrible job...

3 million people can sign it. It does not mean anything. The petition would not be legally binding in any way. Bottom line is that they are playing where the rules state they belong. Just saying. I just hope the program already knows where they belong and that rumors are true and they move up. Yes,...

I'd like to see associations come up with a policy that says if you leave our association for one year and come back we will welcome you with open arms. But for that first year that you come back, you will play down one level. I think this could help eliminate parents moving back and forth. This is...

"KIDS....I MEAN PARENTS... Minnesota association based hockey works. Is it perfect, of course not.. but trust me, your kid will be fine. There is one flaw in all of this: The premise that talent is evenly distributed among a group of players. In my years of hockey, I have observed it to more accurately follow a bell curve, with the concentration of talent in the center with the top and bottom ends being outliers. With that it shows m...

Yes, there was a little success this season, but I don't think that you can chalk that up to roster loading or improper declarations. The co-op only had enough bantams to fill four rosters and they have an A team, a B1 team, a B2 team, and a C team. Within District 2 , they finished 4th, 4th, 4th, ...

Re: Tournament Hosts trying to fix brackets!
Why do teams try and set up brackets and screw up a tourney? Nowin the Bantam AA division in Moose Goheen you have the 1&2 teams playing in the semis because the tournament host had 1 bracket that was a lot easier to walk through and get the 1 seed. I'm not trying to take anything away from Jeffers...

The only way it slows the game down is if players continue to do it. Then it is on them, not the referee. In any games I have been at that it is called that way, they figure it out pretty quickly because they don't like being shorthanded. No different than any other call, but nobody is making the ar...

Schedules are online. Looks like the same malarkey as other years... create as weak of a schedule as possible for the Orange teams to give them every opportunity to advance to the medal round. At 03 level, they are in the same bracket as MG, however they don't play MG. In addition, MG plays one gam...

I totally agree with you. But good luck convincing the 4-10 parents and players from each team that they should be playing cross-ice after they've already had a taste of full-ice. I really think it should have been slowly implemented, with mandating 1st and 2nd year Mites with cross-ice this year (...
