Re: WHL Bantam Draft

Maybe if you managed a WHL team your "little" guy could have been drafted. 11 WHL Bantam draftees with MN ties ('99 birth year) 75th Austin, Pratt Centre Lakeville, MN Shattuck Bantam 1999-07-30 81st Kyler Yeo Forward Hill-Murray HS 1999-03-11 (Mike Yeo's son) 87th Scott Reedy Centre Prior...

Do the Blades U16 only have 98 birth years on it and that`s why they are considered Midget Minor? I thought U16 teams were considered Midget Major, because they have 97 and 98 birth years.

If the prefential route for a Minnesota kid is the NCAA, then why did the Gophers only have 1 SENIOR this year, where did the others go in that recruiting class and why did they leave?

The leading scorer and mvp is a smurf, if he were even 5' 10' he'd be a first rounder. 5" 7" is being generous. If you watched game 7 between LA and the Sharks last night there is no need to explain any further. If he somehow manages to keep putting up crazy numbers he'll get his chance. ...

You are right scorekeep, and that reason is they have the luxury of getting first crack at the top players in the best hockey player producing country on the planet. Its the Canadian system, its what they know and expect and it obviously works for them. Sweden and Finland have hockey academies wher...

There is nothing worse than using the excuse that their role is not to score or produce points, really? So when they hit the ice on the 4th line the coach says "whatever you do just check but dont score". Ok, so they can handle the Mike Rupp role, great. Of course they are still young pla...

Where did you get draft from then? Its a camp to evaluate kids that have the potential to play in the USHL, all the teams will have reps there watching. If the acorn doesn`t fall far from the tree maybe you should look at CHL.

Well I am not sure if was a specific call, but just an email. Seems a bit pricey for the number of skaters. I thin...

Have it and worth it are not mutually exclusive for me. Same answer. Now, if I had the $$ would it be worth it? For me, it would depend on how much my kid wanted that type of commitment. I have one kid who decided he wanted to be a hockey player at age 15. This would not have been for him. I got an...

Seems to be a trend of Mn SSM players coming back (a few this year) to high school Hockey. Now I'm hearing as many as five from their various SSM teams might be coming back. Did the two losses to our high school teams change their minds on prep school Hockey and the level of MHSL competition? I was...

I'm torn on how I think Edina will do. Half of me says they should go 3-0. They do have quite a few older players and that age it does make a difference. They certainly are a talented bunch. The other half tells me they are going to be in for some battles they haven't really experienced. The teams ...

There are no skaters ranked A at the high school or tier 1 level anywhere in the US in that preliminary scouting report. None.
