Move on. If the Blades were ever going to send up a true representation of "Team Minnesota", this was the year. Quite possibly the best 10-year-old skater the metro has seen in a while came over from the Miracle program to go to Edmonton...and he just happened to have the family ties to ma...

I'm interested in what this '04 Showdown tournament hosted by YHH turns into this year. I haven't heard how these teams are formed. Without a true tryout process, it will be more BS to feed the same egos. Hopefully they are more original that taking last years brick roster. I have my doubts The Sho...

Win hardware, obviously. With the growing expansion of metro tournaments, it has become increasingly easier to find tournaments with 4-5 teams that are willing to offer cheap trophies to the top 2 places. Throw in a cheesy "player of the game" award for each of 5 games and you've got a rea...

After asking the question, I'm now more confused regarding the Minnesota kids at the Brick that didn't play for the Blades..... This is my understanding (and I'm sure I'm wrong) of this year's tourney: Leading scorers for Toronto Bulldogs, BC Jr. Canucks, and Winnipeg Jr. Jets all play summer and/or...

I will say though that I was very surprised nothing on here about the out of state players... Sounds like you or Terry should be able to educate the bored on this one... According to Youth Hockey Hub's entertaining Twitter feed, MN was well represented with their kids on Canadian teams in Edmonton....

What has happened to this bored? The Brick is in the books and not one post asking when "The Blades will actually take MN's top 15 to Edmonton"?

That topic alone used to be good for at least 20 separate posts!

Seems like this program is off to a very nice start. From their website, it looks like the 99 and 00 teams are competitive. I'm curious if they're fielding teams at the other birthyears.(?)

Not many elite teams at the 03' level compared to other age groups. Understatement. Seems like the majority of the 03 "elite" tourneys consist of the same group of kids swapping jerseys week-to-week. Case in point: 04 Blades playing up at 03 Elite 04 Machine playing up at 03 AAA 03 Miracl...

Tony/YHH- Keep up the good work! I appreciate and enjoy a portion of the work that you do. I pay nothing for it, nor have I been promised to receive anything from it. With the Easton, Caribou, and Summer Finale all trying to run Open and Invite over that same 2-3 weekends in August (Plus NHG's Miken Cup), it just seems to be oversaturated. Seems like some consolidation would be better for everyone. Ea$ier $aid than done.

Was the 02 Euro team their full lineup all weekend? Saw them twice and didn't look like what I expected to see. Missing kids? Was the 03 Miracle team the same lineup on Sat. and Sun.? The were 2 seconds away from winning vs. Machine Orange, then were blown out on Sunday. I assume they iced a differe...

At least the weather is cooperating. Why spend a May weekend in the OC when you can spend the weekend dodging snowplows and watching your little one get shellacked by double digits?

Why? Simple. If kids are able to receive the same level of education and demonstrate the same level of results without traditional teachers in the traditional classroom setting, then the public school model should be examined for opportunities to provide something similar. If this works as an equiva...

This article got me thinking. My kids go to a public school in a decent suburban district. I was looking at the daily schedule at the mid-elementary level: Total hours in school day: 6.5 Class size: 22 Core Subjects (Math, Science, Reading/Spelling, Social Studies/History): 4 hours (some specialized...

I read the article, please tell me if my understanding of a typical "school" day is correct: 3 hours on-ice 1 hour dryland 4 hours of self-driven online courses with no actual teacher Then.... off to association practice supposedly 2 more hours of online homework at night These kids have z...

04 legacy 2-3 /w a couple close losses. Looks like the 04 made teams should have played down a level. In the 2003 division the Machine lost in the Bronze medal game and the Blades lost in the semis for the Bronze medal game. The Gradient selects won the D side Not exactly.... Machine lost the 5th p...

Another 03 MN team called Gradient with kids from Miracle Gold and Legacy programs (+ others?). Not sure how they did.

Good game.
