Rumor out there that Edina was approached about playing Elk River but Giles is not that interested in it. Would be great to have to ex NHLer's have their teams face off. The venue will be unique and allow for a big crowd. Have the Wild play Pittsburg and bring in Martin and Crosby for an appearance...

Ohhhhh HockeyDJ started this thread... It all makes sense now... You're right, this style of playoffs without facing DE would finally bring the GR thunder hawks to the tourney! 8)

I don't see why Randolph wouldn't be back for the 2013-14 season. DE will be solid once again. Their bantan A teams were very strong the past two years and had a few sophs get a taste of varsity and contribute this season. Consistency at goalie may be the only question. In 7AA next year, I see Elk ...

Majority will be with Duluth East. A few of the good players go to Marshall though.

Easts Bantam AA won state last year, and are going to state again this year so I don't know if that correlates to high school success but I really hope so. To clarify...DE won VFW State last year (Not MAHA State - which Edina won). VFW is a nice title...but many teams do not participate in VFW... a...

Talked to someone in the DE bantam program today about the goalie situation next year. He said they have a pretty good goaltender who played jv this year, who Randolph wants to start next year on varsity who's been playing very well named Gunnar Howg (i think?) he told me he plays exactly like Jojo ...

Duluth Easts Future

I think I probably start this thread every year, but this year with mostly the whole team graduating, I'm really curious on whether Mike will stay or not or if East will continue to perform well. Defense seems to be alright, but im worried about the O and the goaltending. Any thoughts from anyone?

With Bantam AA's making it to state and doing very well, and with Bunten and Altmann coming back as juniors, and with Bealieu and Trapp leading the D core (if Beaulieu stays) and with Kolars scoring ability, the hounds should be fine next year. That's all if Randolph stays though.

Who you got? Games at 6pm tomorrow at the x. Not liking Easts chances, they seemed sloppy against Moorhead while Edina looked ready to go. Ill day 4-3 Edina

OK, I keep hearing about a "hot goalie", and I have to ask what a goalie must do to earn the "hot goalie" tag? I think that requires more than one game. Thirty-seven (I think that's right) saves against Eagan is very respectable; that's a lot of shots. I didn't see the game so I don't know how many...
