Re: When the golden goose gets aggressive

Ken Pauley's contribution to the latest LPH issue ( http://www.letsplayhockey.com/teams/high-school/2375-taking-action-to-preserve-high-school-hockey.html ) strays from his standard stay-in-school talking points and adopts a fairly aggressive attitude towards the MSHSL. It can be summed up this way...

If she doesn't make the boys team, can she go back to the girls team? Timing questions? - Most of the Girl's team tryouts start next week. The boys tryouts are in late November. Does she tryout for both teams? If so, wouldn't there lots of conflict with girls practice and boys captains/tryout pract...

Re: Summer scrimmages

Who's been playing who? Who's winning? Who has benefitted or been hurt by transfers and who's landed where? I've been overseas all summer physically and emotionally distant from hockey. What did I miss? Summer scrimmages are overrated. Many scrimmages are arranged in very short notice, maybe a day ...

For starters move the whole tourney to Ridder Arena. Dont mess with the ticket prices for the first year and see what happens. I have a feeling if it was free there would be about the same amount of people showing up. I just think it would be so much better for the girls and the fans that show up a...

I have been going to the state tourney for the last 25 years. It's not the usual teams that are making the tourney less exciting. It's the lack of truly great players that create the excitement. In my opinion, the last time that arena really sparked with excitement was when Aaron Ness from Roseau to...

Thanks for clarifying. I was not clear in my earlier message.
I should have stated that Penn State had the best academic opportunities for her in addition to playing hockey.

Bella Sutton's nearly single-handed, hard work was the catalyst for Mounds View trip to the state tourney. In addition (and most importantly) she is an academic leader at the school. She turned down several offers to D1 schools to attend Penn State for academic reasons.

Well deserved honor.

I'm not that concerned about the girls either, except for them having to put up with unethical parents and school staff. They aren't children anymore, but well on the way to being adults. They knew what was going on was wrong and an attempt to stack the deck in their favor. Good riddance to the who...

Re: Inflated stats ethical? Who do u blame?

Though it makes sense to protect your top players in professional sports I don't think it really applies to youth or HS sports. The kids are on the team because they want to play. They are not resources that have to be managed. The purpose of a HS hockey team is to have kids play hockey, not win ch...

I know MSHSL has rules regarding allowable ice time. How does Achiever Academy get around this rule? Can you point to the specific MSHSL bylaw that governs allowable ice time? This Jag's team was super talented. Too bad Moorhead had one of its best teams ever that year with Cullen and Kraft.

Moorhead's only regular season loss was to the Jags in the Holiday championship game at the Met Center.

This was the best high school game that I have ever watched.
