The primary mission of the 3HL, which is managed organizationally by the North American Hockey League (NAHL), is to provide a structured developmental environment for student-athletes whose youth options are limited but are still reaching their potential and have aspirations of playing in the NAHL o...

I knwo the cap that NA3 can charge is $7500 however I do not think many charge that much. I believe but do not confirmation that MJ is 2500-4000. The NAHL I believe is getting more kids looked at the top third teams seem to be putting 3-10 kids in D1 schools where many of the others are 1-5. They st...

I am not as familiar with D2 so I will plead the 5th. I am however familiar with D10. So I will use this as an example, and maybe in D10 this works but in D2 it will not. Keep in mind D10 was the AA test pilot last year... Irondale- would be A, B1 this year last year B1 and B2 at Bantam Mora- would ...

Bo- Medium sized Associations Can remain A then B1. And lets be fair here B1 is still B1. It is taking the Mega Associations Upper B1 teams and Smaller associations playing b1 instead of A and moving them to A therefor mid associations, mega, and small associations can field a very competitive B1 le...

I feel that the NA3 is the better league more controlled like NAHL or USHL or even college style hockey. Better passing and actual forechecks and multiple offensive chances in a zone instead of run and gun. And to further add to the differences, there are no really weak teams in the NA3 they have mo...

I am only familiar with one NA3 team the Steel. That being said I know they put 2 kids up (1 to NAHL, 1 to SIJHL) and it was the first year of the team. I believe they have a couple kids trying out for NAHL teams this years as well. Yes you pay but the kids get exposed to more of NAHL type of travel...

Point is that kids who want to still play can play and The Steel did move Two kids up last year. And I know for a fact have 2 more tendered kids in NAHL tryout camps right now. Stu is no longer with the team, and the team is looking to move kids up again. And yes some of these kids will get no highe...

Why is it difficult to understand that you basically take two groups AA/A that play a weighted schedule but compete against each other as well therefor creating a higher level of competition for A teams and keeping the AA kids playing the same teams and competition without many of the picking on the...

Scout Well said.... IHEA I agree with Badger completely off base. If you take an association like Blaine at Bantam last season had a AA team, An upper B1 and a Lower B1, and a B2 team. If you look at the records the upper B1 team was strong in district play while the lower team struggled. With the n...

So you get a Blaine, Wayzata, OMGHA, or any of the other big associations who have the numbers of kids to field a AA and an A team, those 30 kids now benefit from the development of playing higher caliber hockey and competing at a higher level. While I am not a private school guy at all this will he...

I do not discount or want to talk down to any league that helps a kid get an education. That being said off of a low number of 1920 kids that have played in the MJ since 2000 about 200+ have made it to D3. That is right around 10%. In one year alone NAHL has put 94 out of 644 to D1 schools. That is ...

Heights and Fridley have an age issue more than a ghetto issue. My family still lives there many of the homes there are still the older people who have been there for 40+ years and no longer have kids feeding into the schools. Its not just hockey getting cut for these schools but some of the other s...

I am a proud Heights Grad.... that being said I was part of the original merger of youth to CHF and then to East River of Heights and Fridley, however at High School we went to our own teams. It was a heated debate then as to merging the youth we at Heights lost our head HS coach because the youth a...

With his age and $$ and keeping him enjoying the game and position why not stick with GDI or Premier since he will know the instructors they are good and already know him and what to work on. As he gets older then branch out and seek more training different points of view. At 8 fundamentally he need...
