Forest Lakes Jgold b team has been ranked all year. They couldn't touch our JV. Unfortunately, I have some expertise in this area. JGB teams are all over the map. I can tell you with absolute certainty that last years JGA state championship team (Edina) would have never lost to a JV team all year. ...

Re: Sorno

If you look at Wayzata Navy's record you will note that they have beaten teams Wayzata blue lost to. Navy is a lot better than blue. The tie was from a goal scored with seconds left in the game. I was there to see them both play. Navy was running a clinic in puck control and dominated the game from...

He was an assistant at Henry Sibley for their state tourney team in 1997. Hell of a coach, understands players strengths and weaknesses. He was always open to talk to players about issues on and off the ice. And yes he has a hell of a shot! Wildone - you must have grown up in Hastings back in the m...

Congratulations to Stillwater and Centennial for reaching the top 10 and not having a single top player on their respective teams. Must be great coaching and/or great depth. Also among top teams with no mentions from Freddie are STMA, Roch, LVN, Woodbury and Roseau. We still love your passion for yo...

Congratulations to the Lakers. They were a preseason pick to be #1, they had targets on the backs all year long, and they managed to win it all. They are a clear #1. After that things are pretty muddled. I would put them in this order: #2 Elk River #2 Lakeville South #2 Eden Prairie #2 OMG #2 Herma...

Congrats to all the players whose name appears on the All State PeeWee A list...certainly a nice honor to be mentioned among the State's best. I suspect there are other top level players whose name did not appear on the list (too). What will be interesting to see (this spring and summer) and next w...

no horse in the race; this topic should be done. I hope he scores 20 goals this weekend, the kid--he's a kid--has been vilified enough by people who don't have anything better to do. If it was as bad as some say/think, the Stillwater players will have 7 seasons to get SH back....but it sounds like ...

Just heard that they rescinded the penalty, he has been reinstated to play in their first and all games at state.... :? I will preface this by saying - I'm a Stillwater parent and saw the incident. I personally think it's more special to win a State Championship with my buddies I grew up playing hockey with. How fun is it to win with kids that I've only known for a few years? It’s no mystery that quality goal tending is paramount to winning a championship. Especially, given the offensive horse power headed to Alexandria next weekend. I’ve seen all of the qualifying teams play at least once and there are too many talented goalies in the mix to focus on just one kid. The ...

You must not have watch this kid much. He was one of the best goalies in the state LAST year. He is by far the best goalie in the state. PL has ridiculous fire power so losing to them a couple times isn't bad. If he has a good weekend they can definitely win state. EP doesn't dominate games but wit...

EPs goalie is good don't get me wrong but he's not great. PL has beat him a multiple of times this year. In late Janurary LVS put 9 up on the big tender as well he might play somewhat of a factor in the LVS game and so on but he won't carry his team I can tell you that right now. You must not have ...

It's pretty good stuff Jackdaw. Thanks for the extra work. It will be interesting to see how this all plays out in the end. My prediction is that someone in the sub 8 class will win it all.
