Re: The State of Hockey. Mixed up priorities.

Wisconsin wouldn't win anything without Minnesota hockey. Hell, the GWG was scored by a Minnesota boy. Even their greatest hockey coach (Bob Johnson) was a Minnesotan. If it weren't for Minnesota, Wisconsin hockey wouldn't even be on the map.

Wisconsin is about as much of a hockey state as Lo...

Re: Sandelin ?

Sandelin is getting his butt handed to him by other coaches these days. He can't even coax a decent effort out the Bulldogs. He is fortunate UMD signed him to a long deal so he has job security. Cause he would be canned quick if he coached at a big time program

Re: Others?

Kessel has almost twice as many assists as Oshie does. I realize that some of Kessel's assists happen because a teammate scores on a rebounded shot of his but I doubt even half of his assists have come that way.

Kessel is better than Oshie. <img src=http://w...

Re: Not a tough choice

Oshie's has 8 less points than Kessel does and Kessel has done it while contributing to a team that is probably going to win the league title. Kessel is going to win it.

Do you really want to go there Lee? Because it is pretty well known that a high percentage of UMD players drink their fair share of "refreshments" at the local establishments in Duluth.

Re: wcha update

I'd say there was plenty of excitement tonight at Mariucci. Naturally, playing for 1st place doesn't hurt the excitement level either. Of course, St. Cloud wouldn't know anything about playing for first place. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/pimp.gi...

A "hack" as in low talent. Not in terms of penalties. Good goalie. The rest of the squad is riff raff.

The "hottest" team is not St. Cloud. Unfortunately for you, St. Cloud won't be winning when it counts most. That should give you something to cry about. Of course, St. Cloud fans are used to failing in this regard so I am sure your skin is thick enough that when it happens again this year, it won't bother you too much.

St. Cloud...

Not a tough choice

Toews doesn't belong in the discussion. He may end up being a pretty good player down the line but his numbers this year don't put him in the category for best freshman. The best freshman should be about who actually produces on the ice as opposed to discussions about future potential. There are only...

Re: Huskies, Huskies

St. Cloud is simply one very good goalie and a bunch of hacks. When the season is over, they will be in their customary spot watching the real programs fight it out for the title.

Re: Others?

Kessel is the top guy. He could still be in high school right now as he just turned 18 a few months ago. He is the top scoring freshman in college hockey despite being the 2nd youngest player in the college game. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/eek....

Re: Hobey Baker?

Earl for Hobey is a joke. If he can't beat a guy one on one, he is useless. He doesn't use his teammates very well and he is a diver. Not to mention, he isn't even the top scoring guy on his own team. He would never be considered for Hobey.

While 97% may be true puckhead, it wasn't like AHA had been playing great teams those first four games he built up that save percentage. A corpse probably could have had a save percentage above 90% given the talent difference between AHA and their first four opponents.

Re: where are they from

I don't think going to a private school and winning the state title is going to diminish the experience for any kid. A kid that changes schools will still be playing alongside of friends but it would be a new group of friends that he will be building memories with.
