Re: Response to Edina Squirt A???
The initial question was valid and asked out of curiosity. The current Squirt A parents that have chimmed in should be ashamed of themselves. I'm a current parent of a Bantam, PeeWee and Mite players in Edina. I do not have an "A" player in the family. Our skill levels are B and C levels. People wh...

Both sides are too sensitive. The guy who is frustrated needs a chill pill and a full time job. The ones who are outraged at the criticism need to not be so sensitive. Edina's squirt program isn't what it used to be but that is logical because there are 2 teams. Edina is still top 10. And thanks fo...

Its easy to sit back and say all this stuff when you hide behind your user name. Have some balls and either put your name on this site, leave the association if your unhappy, or pick up the phone and call the coaches. There pretty nice guys! Ive had a child on a C team, a B team, and an A team. The...

If the options are my child touching the puck 40 times in a 10 minute game or 10 times because there is a superstar hogging the puck, what option is better for the entire association? I think it's pretty clear even beyond the Mite age range. There's a reason the 3 v 3 leagues at Velocity, the Lumber...

Nice point SECoach. There are a lot of people making a living (some may even get rich) off that parent's hockey dream. Off season can go back to one or two weeks of local summer skating camps. No spring leagues, AAA, fall leagues ... The same athletes will still likely rise to the top. Especially w...

Depends on the injury and how long the kid will be out. If there is "question" as to what team the kid will be on our association actually "leaves room" so to speak on both teams to start the season as USA Hockey rosters are usually not due til the end of November. The player(s) in question practic...

The conundrum is a very short season and 25 games compared to the rest of the country and Canada. The community models does just fine at the Bantam level with kids playing roughly three times that number of games. I love MN highschool hockey. But 25 games doesn't provide the same level of game expe...

Figure out what the talent level is in your association, then choose your teams accordingly. Year to year adjustments should be normal. Since WBL didn't win State in overwhelming fashion(or in any fashion), then one would have to assume that they were playing at the right level. Problem is ... some...

For argument's sake, the 03 Brick team loses: JB to Florida (with no certain return) ChL to Legacy (with no certain return) CrL to Legacy (with no certain return) DF to Northern Wings That is like 80% of their scoring from the Brick. The edition of our Rankings reflect the above, not the Brick team...

Easy O-town. Originally being from Florida, I do agree there are some very talented kids from the Sunshine State. The 97 and 98 birth year has been particularly strong, but to mention Florida talent in the same sentence as Minnesota or Illinois talent.....ahh, No. Another thing that shouldn't be us...

Re: Stars and Stripes
Schedules are online. Looks like the same malarkey as other years... create as weak of a schedule as possible for the Orange teams to give them every opportunity to advance to the medal round. At 03 level, they are in the same bracket as MG, however they don't play MG. In addition, MG plays one gam...

Is something wrong? We rank six age classes and a top 10 MN AAA teams and not one comment on our site or on here. Hmmm. I have some AAA blind spots (2004 for good reason), and not one complaint or miss? The rankings had a very high first day viewership...I'm perplexed. TZ Cuz all the crap you write...

If this thing actually gets off the ground, and I think it will, I would anticipate a Pee Wee level introduced next year that allows full checking and has a national championship...... it appears to me that the actions of USA Hockey over the last 24 months have proved to be the tipping point of the...
