Re: Warroad

Well put Puckguy, they did have a great team but I also agree that the coaches played a role and as we can see they are very capable of the job. I think the two in place right now are a great combination and unless they do bring someone in that has outstanding credentials it would be a shame to see ...

Re: Warroad

Funny thing is though that it isn't the hockey powers that hire the hockey coach, it's the school board. Even though Conway and his group of yes men like to think they are in control they don't have the final say.

Scotty Bowman

I see that you didn't pick up on the sarcasm, what I meant by this was that the arena board wasn't happy with an undefeated season by the current coaches so they need to find someone better suited for the job.

I wonder if they have ever heard of the saying "If it ain't broke, don't fix i...

Re: coaches

Word around Warroad is that the arena board is looking at bringing in Scotty Bowman because they aren't happy with the job the coaches did last year.

Section Sites

If I were the coach from DL I would probably make a motion to keep the section tournament in TRF permanently because it's a easier trip to make to lose in the first round in TRF rather than driving to Warroad.

Re: asking or allowing

Great post elliott, maybe this will clear up some things for all the people that come on here and bash Warroad for recruiting. It is true that people who live in Warroad might ask a player or their family if they want to come to town and play hockey, but this doesn't make the whole town, school, and...

Re: A Simple Fix

So I guess Warroad and a few other towns should just put up a wall around the town and not let anyone else move in. They should just tell people to get lost if they want to move into their community and put their kids into school and play sports. Come on lets get a clue I don't think I have ever hea...

Re: Josh Johnson

I also found this strange, especially the way this person is talking about other players on UMD. You would think that if it really was Josh he would have more common sense than to talk about his teammates like that in front of everyone.

Re: For arguments sake?

I guess no one on this board will be happy unless Warroad moves to AA and doesn't contend for state every year or they stay in A and don't allow anyone on the team that hasn't lived or played hockey in Warroad their whole life. Does that about sum things up. Last time I checked every one of the AHA ...

A/AA

Comparing A and AA to Bantam A and B is a very poor comparison. Players on the Bantam B's are the ones who aren't good enough to make the A's. I think we can all agree that there are plenty of Class A players that could still stand out even in Class AA. AA just has more depth than A, just because a ...
