If you think he will let them expire on December 18th just in time for Christmas and New Years...... This quote he allowed to slip is telling: On WCCO Radio on Friday, Walz said he’s in discussions with his finance advisers about what the state can do, especially if no new federal assistance is app...

Re: covid and MH

I heard a rumor (we all know how those can be) that kids that go to Breakaway are still able to be on the ice as it is considered school. I wouldn't know how that would work since indoor facilities are to be closed, but just something that I heard..... They could put ice in a Target or Home Depot a...

Waltz just said that the various science and medical experts they rely on are saying the level of spread in the upper Midwest is the worst it has been anywhere in the world since the pandemic began.
Let's see the data on this.

Re: covid and MH

Be prepared for increased cases when the shutdown occurs due to kids maintaining a social life. MSHSL will regret this decision. Maybe not this year. But when their Bread and Butter money maker Hockey State Tournament is bye-bye, schools will be faced with increased fees which will lead to further ...

Re: covid and MH

Keep in mind a standardized PCR is going to detect if you've EVER had the antibody in your system so there are going to be false positives with the numbers you are seeing everyday, this is why many people are asymptomatic. No standard has been set at what constitutes a false positive but generally ...

Re: MSHSL Oct 1st Meeting (Boys Hockey Season Fate)

And it seems like every time I check Twitter, there's another school board voting to postpone youth athletics for weeks/months (Duluth, Bloomington, St. Peter, etc.). Do these developments cause MHCA, MN Hockey or MSHSL to change their course for the upcoming season? I’ll let Elliott confirm or den...

Re: covid and MH

The stay at home order ended in May in Minnesota. Why is that being brought up? It was suggested that the governor will or needs to enact new restrictions, shut downs, etc because we are running out of ICU beds. When it was pointed out that we aren't really running out of beds WOM suggested that it...

Re: covid and MH

The news reported yesterday that at one point there were only 9 ICU beds available in the Twin Cities. That's always been the indicator we've been told. So obviously you look backwards, because there's a 2-3 week lag time from infection to serious illness. At that time MN was logging about 1,500 in...

Re: Early Departures 2020-2021

Here are the USHL early departures I could find on a preliminary scan through the rosters. Chicago’s roster does not appear to be final yet, and they could have a few given the number of Minnesotans on the roster. Still, this is a fairly low number of early departures compared to how many kids were...

Meh, we don’t shut down school districts for 49 students positive with the flu in a district as large as Rosemount-Apple Valley-Eagan but 49 is far too many with Covid like symptoms in October! I noticed that they cancelled a Breck FB game last evening not because multiple players tested positive, ...

Re: Bridge League Games - first round

Osseo also waxed Buffalo 6-1 on Tuesday. I have a feeling that many of the teams will be treating these games as an extended tryout (Maple Grove fielding two teams, for example). These games are likely slightly more formal than summer STP scrimmages and that's because there is a website with roster...

WOM and Hunter win. My inside source says all schools will be shut down in a week or two. Walz will also shut down bars and restaurants. Your local YMCA and gyms closed also. Sad deal Do you mind divulging your source? At least what industry/agency he/she works in? Will ice arenas be shut down? Hea...

Can anyone clarify the city of origin for Martin from the NTDP? When he played for Gentry it showed a hometown of something near White Bear Lake. Now he's listed as Eagle River, WI.
I've seen a lot of WBL reference as well.
