Re: Minnesota Hockey cut-off dates

It worked fine for the kids and only seemed to bother a few parents, likely the ones lobbying to get rid of the single class state tournaments. AP, like your post and agree. Hear a couple brothers won't have to change colors or sections... but are probably changing schools...
Heard rumors of that too, sounds like a possible eastward move in the north metro? If it happens, I'd classify this movement more in the "bombshell" category.

Re: Top 5 Goaltenders

Wes Swenson will play for Andover., my guess Will Larson should get a good look for them as well. I believe he came back to Andover after a great freshman year with TG Larson was actually a transfer to Andover. I’m not sure if there was a family move or if it was open enrollment, but he played for ...

Westy’s big move is Motzko is going back to St. Cloud Cathedral.
I am probably in the minority but I don't view this as a bombshell.
bomb·shell
noun
1. an overwhelming surprise or disappointment.
"the news came as a bombshell"
2. a very attractive woman.

Heard Boynton was selected for ASG at Fargo camp.
Any word on if he was selected for roster spot?

Glockner selected for ASG at Sioux Falls camp.

Unfortunately, Glockner was not selected for the "final" ASG at the camp

Re: Early Departures 2019-2020

Yes, one of the two people I talked to did mention the Blizzard. The relocation is convenient with St. Cloud being a short trip from Buffalo (or Hanover). I’m sure the Blizzard would welcome them with open arms given the recent struggles of that franchise. IMO - The Braccini kids will 100% both be ...

Re: Transfers for 2019-20 season

Goalies in general commit at older age typically while playing Junior, it has nothing to do with MN HS Hockey. ⬆️⬆️ This 👏 A better metric to compare would be if MN HS goalies move on to Tier 1 or Tier 2 juniors at a higher or lower rate than full season U16 or U18 AAA goalies. My guess is it would...

Re: Transfers for 2019-20 season

It’s been brought up a lot in recent topics - but name a 2000 birth year goalie and up (01/02/03) that stayed in high school and has committed to play college hockey? Some will yes- eventually, but many are now starting their first and second years of juniors (and only have 1-2 years of junior elig...

Any predictions or insights regarding tenders or likely draft teams for upcoming MN HS Seniors or 19' grads? Wonder if Bismarck will land a couple more DEAST boys? I assume this is the Jake Taylor who has been an assistant there. From the outside this is a good hire, he has been pretty involved in the coaching for a few years. Has the potential to be a decent coach once JE's kids are gone from the program. Until then, as an employee of one of the many Enebak ...

Re: 2019 HP U17 or U16 Boys Rosters?

I can't speak to exact numbers as I was not involved in the 14's age group for D3 and evaluators would change session to session. What I was told is that the % of evaluators is commensurate with the amount of kids (4/5, 6/8, etc) who made it. It was an eye opener though and now the assoc we're invo...

As we all know, there is some level of politics in essentially everything in life that involves another person and if it's a flip of the coin then little Bobby is probably going to get the nod at the end, that's life.
