Re: Transfers for 2019-20 season

Warroad and everyone else in Section 8 better get on the recruiting trail if they want to keep pace with EGF. The starting goalie next year is a transfer from Grand Forks who sat out last year. Rumor has it a couple more blue chip recruits from the Grand Forks side have decided to move across the ri...

SS729, I understand you might have been hanging out with the EGF parent's and are as drunk as the mom's that showed up in Warroad with throw up on their face for the games in Warroad but your facts are still wrong. As I stated before 7 of the girls on the team are the same ones that played in the 12...

Sounds like a lot of sour grapes by SS729. All but 4 girls on the Warroad team have been in Warroad since 8th grade or before, 7 of them were on the 12u team that went to state 3 years ago. At what point are they considered a recruit? Does EGF check everyone's birth certificate at the start of the y...

Holum is the best hs goalie that I have seen in a long time, he could be a diamond in the rough for someone who takes a shot on him.

Fitzgerald and Holum are both excellent goalies playing on very average or poor teams. This award is for the best goalie, without these 2 on their respective teams they win very few games. Holum especially, he won them games they shouldn't have and kept it out of running time in others where it shou...

Elliott, when you say despite other circumstances what do you mean? I think seeds 1-5 will all have a shot at the section, this is as wide open as it has been in many years. Crookston's goalie will have to be very good for them to win it all, when he doesn't play well they are an average team. EGF h...

Very well said. There are some coaches who have no business coaching and should be let go. But I would say that the majority of coaches that are fired or quit do a great job and put in countless hours for not enough pay. The biggest problem with high school sports and even coaching at the younger le...

Why is Loahr out?

Very well respected, must have 25+ years.

I remember seeing he hit 500 wins in his career a few years ago.

Did he just decide to step down after many years on the job?

They don't officially change schools. Here is how they do it: 1. They stay in school during the week and go down on weekends 2. They correspond with their teachers at the current hs through email to keep up on work and assignments and take tests when they are home. 3. Some schools have it set up whe...

[quote="HSHockeyFan08"]Here is what I know.. Tryouts for the Section teams are picked by the coaching staffs. [quote="Tigers33"]What seed did warroad get this year in section 8A? That's almost half of the games they play are against AA teams p...

What is bullying and what parents these days consider bullying are two very different things. Most parents would consider a coach a bully unless they give their kid a regular shift on Varsity and constantly tell them how good they are. No matter the kids attitude or work ethic they deserve everythin...

By my count I see 9 Class A players on the 16 54's. That is 17%, much closer to the % you are looking for. I agree that the system is biased towards the Twin Cities and AA but some years you are going to have less Class A players, it all goes in cycles. The 17 54's have 18 players from Class A, 33%....

This may not be an old saying, but an appropriate one. It's the old double standard, all anyone wants to talk about is the kids that move into Warroad no matter what age they were when they moved.

But it happens in every other town and it isn't even brought up. Yon, Bjugson, Brierley, Loven, Holmes, I'm sure the list could go on.
