Wore a jersey to downtown Mpls today. Would normally get a mix of "go Sioux" shouts along with some less flattering jeers -- but all in good fun.

Today nothing but sad smiles, thumbs up, and "go Broncos."

Ties that bind. One community.

While I wasn't surprised that Portland signed a MN kid -- Moose Jaw? Unless I'm mistaken, that's not a team that team that is generally known for taking US skaters outside of an occasional kid or two from the west coast. Is the WHL starting to make a few inroads. Is this just a coincidence / an aber...

Some poor word choices on my part. The bolded players are in fact those that didn't play high school hockey last year. That doesn't have any bearing on whether they chose to play somewhere else vs. high school hockey or had already graduated. The "left MN high school hockey" phrase should ...

Here are the lists from above combined in rank order, with those who did not play high school hockey the past season in bold. 3 C...

Hoping for an epic battle from each team tonight. It's a virtual draw on paper and should be a one goal game or maybe two with an EN. Either team has the talent to pull away though. If that's the case, it comes down to Delano's sharpshooters needing to bury their chances vs a Breck team that hasn't ...

For a different take on ranking the Class A teams, I decided to see what would happen if I combined three sources -- Pagestat, My Hockey Rankings, and Let's Play Hockey. That gives me two formula based ranking systems and one based on coaches' opinions. The combined rankings and average ranking amon...

When did I say I think Delano could give Hermantown a run? They probably have a better shot than anyone did last year, and as I said, Hermantown's depth this year is not quite was it has been the past two or three. But I'm not going to go any further than that quite yet. As I posted that response I...

Barring an upset by Orono or New Prague, the section 2A final should be as exciting as it gets. I like Parade for the finals. It's standing room only and a rocking atmosphere. Although it'd be nice to have more seating for what will likely be one of the most anticipated games of the year, the same c...

"Delano is clearly sandbagging and should move to AA already." That has got to be the dumbest thing I have read so far this year! Lol, maybe the Breck Mustangs that continually beat them to make it to the state tourney every year should stop sandbagging & move up! P.s. If you know you...

I know the subject is about college coaches having the hammer and deciding, however it's still up to the kid. I'll do a top teams pre-season summary sometime next week. Spoiler alert -- Delano is a top-5 team, but ...

David Wilkie is a great coach If true they would be a team of Omaha/Council Bluffs/Lincoln players. None of the top tier one programs has only local players. If anything, the fact that good players are willing to move to Nebraska indicates he is a great coach. He's turned it into a top-5 program. T...
