Re: covid and MH

A total shutdown seems absurd to me. Why not dial back to only skating with kids in your own community in pods, similar to when hockey opened back up? No games but limited contact and exposure going back to phase 1. Try this first instead of a complete shutdown. What does the statistic as quoted by ...

Re: covid and MH

His follow-up article: https://thejuniorhockeynews.com/covid-19-and-voicing-opinions/ Another great write up on the topic. Common sense, and good use of reason. A great way to tick everyone off these days. Those who wear masks and those who don’t can’t always be separated. If a sports kid taking a ...

Re: MSHSL Oct 1st Meeting (Boys Hockey Season Fate)

The difficult part about zero fans many will take issue with is that will likely not be the same for youth games. As far as what I have heard and when looking at events over the summer and into the fall, attendance and guidelines has been determined by the rink/county/city. Addressing locally makes ...

Re: Top 03 Forwards Playing MSHSL Next Season

Stats don't necessarily tell as much of the story with D men.

Joe Palodichuk has 1 G and 0 Asst, but would put him right toward the top of 03 Dmen, if not the top that are playing in EL.

Re: Hockey is on

Lots of time just if they dont let fall sports have a state then they are not gonna let winter have one. Just how it we works fair for all then. While I would agree with this statement in a normal year, this isn't a normal year and think if the environment improves and a state tournament can be hel...

Re: 7AA 2020-2021

It's September and this thread has been non existent Is Rapids still the preseason favorite? Dover lost a lot but had very strong JV team with some incoming players, do they get back to the top by season end? Never can count out East, although may be another "down" year by east standards, which is s...

Re: Minnesota Hockey Taking Over?

4.) Considering that USA Hockey and Minnesota Hockey aren’t at all liable for any Covid related legal challenges, whereas the MSHSL is, please explain why an MSHSL administrator should take on the risks of a player having a bad outcome due to Covid? Remember, all it takes is one kid out of the 1000...

Re: Minnesota Hockey Taking Over?

During a typical year, our community doesn't hold tryouts for J Gold until after HS tryouts are completed, are other communities the same? Without advance notice from MNHSL, season wouldn't be able to start when other level's (squirt-bantam) start allowing for longer season. Does a delayed start fo...

Re: Minnesota Hockey Taking Over?

Just to recap where we are: It is o.k. for my kid to go to school with 1000 people two days per week (that's half of his full school size, and they are starting out in hybrid learning). It is o.k. for him to work 8 hour shifts at Cub grocery store and interact with people and be sure that everyone ...

You continue to not answer my questions, thus I am done. You have your view and I have mine. You make your choices and I will make mine. I have no reservation on the decisions I will make as long as I follow STATE guidelines. You can hope/ask for separate school and teachers all you want but we both...

Re: MSHSL moves football to spring

Why can’t a coach teach the kids if they need to play hockey so bad? No hockey parents should think about the safety of their kids and the kids around them and be the adult and say during a pandemic my kid’s shouldn’t play hockey! Why should they have to and not attend their school if MN Department...

Re: MSHSL moves football to spring

So you are saying MNHSL is the authority over all hockey and should be followed despite what MN Department of Health says and guidance they provide? If MN Department of Health allows hockey my kids are playing. The fact you are missing is MNHSL also has to consider liability in addition to safety. T...

Re: MSHSL moves football to spring

Clearly some people posting here do not have a teenager at home. These kids are done with it. Parties are happening, going to the cabin or lake, etc. All with not a mask in sight and zero social distancing. This is not about those scary hockey kids coming to your school and getting your kid sick. T...

Re: Minnesota Hockey state tournaments

I am surprised MN Hockey didn't cancel State Tournaments. Considering all of the other events that have been cancelled, I would think MN Hockey would follow that lead. While I understand the professional leagues like NHL, NBA, MLB and NCAA are much larger venues with many more in attendance, the USH...

How about this. We have a free agent list that gets formed in say March or whenever and kids can put their name out there on this list and be contacted all they want, but you have to be on the list to have it happen. Then at least it’s 100% transparent to all and all teams can try their best sales ...
