I would say overall Tonka and MG are the winners on this. They get out of 6AA and away from each other. Tonka has EP to deal with and MG has some younger teams to fend off that are on the rise but haven't found their way to the final game in several years. 6AA picks up two very good teams but does g...

My two cents. If a player (note I did not say parent) is not happy with their play time, line, etc., they should take it up with the coach. Ask him/her what they need to do to play more or to get on one of the top lines. Honorable coaches respect that and will provide honest feedback and they learn ...

I am pretty sure the team with the Olympic players won the Ship. I saw the end of that game in which they won 5 or 6 to 2 and was told it was the Championship game for the College level. That team played my daughter's team as well and spanked them pretty good. Any team with Hillary Knight on it will...

Greybeard, I have to say your comments ring true. I have heard the same from D I coaches who have said they see girls at the national camp that are not as good as some of those left behind. The comments seemed more about MN girls that didn't make it while others from other states did although I got ...

This issue has been bantered about for years. One side is frustrated because they see several teams making it to State that appear far inferior to their team or other teams in their section. For example, two years ago BSM played 7 or 8 games against teams that made it to state and out scored them so...

I would play all games except the final game at Ridder. That is a much better venue for the girls as it feels like there is a full house there versus the X where you feel like no one showed up. Playing the final at the X gives the girls that get that far the experience of playing in the big lights a...

Interesting final rankings by LPH. I get why teams like Hopkins, Tonka and Wayzata who didn't get to state are ranked high. If they were in most other sections they go to State and have as good a chance as anyone at winning it. And no offense to EP but how does LN end up behind them (and not just 1 ...

No offense to all those that have a lot to say about AA, but I for one find the whole thing depressing and an overall slight against girls hockey. I am not condemning anyone but will say that whatever happened it should not have come to this. Can we call this issue beaten to death and move on to som...

SOS for State Bound Teams
For those that are on top of these issues, i would be interested in the SOS for those teams making it to State. Would have been better to know this before submitting State Tourney predictions but better late than never. Can anyone help with this? Hopefully they can include the section games.

I will give a shout out to some classy people that came up short tonight in 6AA. Nina and her Mom stuck around after a tough loss and were quick to congratulate BSM parents that they knew. And there were a couple Tonka parents that showed class as well. The reality is the hockey gods can go your way...

I am not surprised with the outcome but would still like to know how they came to that conclusion. Would it have ended the same way if BSM went undefeated? The good news, with the bye in play and barring a major upset, there is an additional game for me to watch my daughter play before her HS career...

I think it would be hard to justify giving the number 1 seed to a team that finished 1-3 compared to a team that finished 3-1, particularly when the rest of the season records don't give the edge to Hopkins either. Yes the losses were close and the wins for BSM were close as well but all wins and lo...

Fair points Sinbin. Bottom line is regardless of how the seeding plays out, this year it truly is wide open. No one can assume anything because there is no dominant team. Its a tougher road for the lower seeds as you say, but a hot goalie and a couple breaks here and there can turn into a three game...
