I think that there are a couple of girls that are playing Peewee this year. Any girls worth watching? I heard that Mashuga is playing in Anoka. Is it Kedzie Malone that is playing for Armstrong Cooper? I heard that Lily Deliandis is playing for Edina Peewee A. Anyone else? Olivia Mobley is not play...

I am curious if there will be much overlap in the HP 14s "event" this weekend. Overall a great lead in to the season. The rosters are out for this weekend's HP 14/15...the girls that were in the PW challenge: D2 - Einan, Parent, Ligday D3 - Martini D5 - Martin D6 - Doll D10 #1 - Bertolas ...

The assocations doing this would be D10, AA schools, whose HS take all top 9th grade players. U14 does get watered down, leaving 3-4 dominant teams who have their best 9th graders still at that level. The argument comes down to having girls from the same school skate together, or have girls of the s...

The U14 co-op challenge

Looking for pros/cons on a co-op at U14 which would produce an A and a B team. Has this been done anywhere else and, if so, what were the results? Assume each association has 12-15 skaters and a goalie.

Re: Minnesota Select Stinks
Looks like the rules only apply to some kids. 2001 West girls had a girl from Mpls playing. Mpls is supposed to be in the East region at least based on what they have documented on their website. Maybe those don't apply to players the West wants.
The 2001 West team had 3 girls from ...

Don't sleep on Anoka...they beat both the NE Stars and Chaska/Chan in Regions. They have shortened the bench and their top 9 can skate with anyone (well maybe not Edina :) )

Having first hand knowledge of this issue, I was hoping it would just go away. But you Centennial people just wouldn't let it, would you? Blaine did hold a 'scrimmage' in place of a league game because the 'B' team was missing some players and instead of a forfeit, they had some 'A' players play of ...

I know several of the players on the AA team and those kids don't deserve the ridicule. The parents were under the understanding that because AA was new this year, the transfer rule didn't apply to them. MSHSL needs to simply clarify if AA is exempt from the rule or not. If AA is not exempt and, err...

The Icebreaker used to be the premier winter tourney. Last year at 12A alone, 18 of the top 20 teams in the state participated. Now with the odd format, poor seeding and less of the top talent, it is just another out of towner. :(

12A Cake Eater Classic Nov 29-Dec 1at Braemar Arena

Predictions and comments for the first 'Big' 2013 tournament for 12A Pool #1 Home team Edina Green sets themselves up for a relatively easy #1 overall seed. OMG and Roseville are not what they used to be and Rosemount lacks the players to stay with the defending champs. Pool #2 This pool comes down ...

Eagan wins the title over Highland. Cloquet gets revenge on NWC winning the consolation game. Rochester scores 4 goals in three games, but takes 3rd place over Lakeville North. And Champlin beat Coon Rapids in the 7th place game. By some awesome hockey coincedence, all four Sunday games were 2-1 fin...

Was a great Championship game. Saw the last 4 minutes...Anoka was on a 5-3, scored and had time left on the second penalty. TB held on and won 3-2. Game MVP was the TB goalie. The TB fans said that was her best game ever, good time to play that way. Orono beat Mounds View (6-2) for 3rd and Blaine be...

Hopkins 12A Tournament Nov 23-24

I will take a stab at this tournament, but don't know a lot about a couple of teams. Championship - Eagan over Highland - two teams evenly matched, both have great individual talent 3rd Place - Champlin over Lakeville N - Champlin will ride a hot goalie and win a low scoring game Cons - Cloquet over...

Results from Day 1:

Thunder Bay 2-1 in a very tight game. TB holds off a late 6 on 4 to win.
Orono gets an early lead and hangs on to beat Blaine 5-2.
Mounds View scores a 3rd period PPG to beat Forest Lake 3-2.

Three games decided by 4 goals (one EN)...buckle up.

12A All American Girls Tourney in Blaine - Nov 22-24

The AAG has just 6 teams this year and they all look evenly matched. Should make for some good, close games at The Swan. Thunder Bay is bringing down an older, more experienced team than last year and could be the favorite. Mounds View has started well and should get more recognition in District 2. ...

Did I hear correctly that there are only 6 12A teams in D10 this year? Last year there were 12 or 13. Sounds like everyone will play each other 4 times this season. Maybe that is common in other districts, but it hasn't happened in D10 for several years.
