Re: AA Rankings for 2/21/21

The Maple Grove game vs Andover, scheduled for Feb 25, has been moved to March 4th. The MSHSL only allows two games per week until the first week in March.

Re: AA Rankings for 12/22/19

Anyone know if any other top 10 team only runs 2 lines? Rosemount runs 2 lines 75% of the time. Both loses were against teams that ran 4 lines against them. Rosemount did not look tired in the 3rd. They took it to Andover pretty good in the 3rd. Rosemount’s had much better scoring chances. Andover’...

Re: 7AA 2018-2019

The section uses QRF because Grand Rapids got "screwed" by the coaches in the 2017 vote. As much as people like to blame the southern coaches for using QRF, it was Rapids that initiated, lobbied for, and drove the change. And, as much as people may want it, there is no chance that there wi...

I am pretty sure it is a done deal for this season. I am curious whether they have agreed to use QRF beyond this year. It’s a 2 year agreement to use it. Hopefully they vote again on it end of next year, but seems like the southern coaches like it which would give 5-4 votes to use it. I'm don't thi...

Only 7AA is using it and it was voted on by the schools. East and Marshall were the only 2 schools to vote against using it. The thought was it would eliminate any posturing like having Rapids as the 4 seed last year. If it is continued to be used teams could look at who they schedule if section ga...

Re: Elite player to Hermantown

Going back nine years ... Andover beat Cloquet in 2008-09, 2009-10, 2011-12, 2012-13, 2013-14, and 2015-16. Cloquet won in 2010-11 and 2016-17. They tied in 2014-15. Do the playoff wins count? Cloquet is 2 and 0 vs Andover in playoffs. how about before 2009-2010 do those wins count? hardly makes Cl...

Re: Elite player to Hermantown

Very true. Not only is CEC class A, but also CEC gets very, very rarely gets transfers in to play for them. It would sure be nice to see the kids in purple have a good chance year in and out make it to state. Play AA in youth, but A in high school. Kids work extremely hard and every year, generally...

I'm saying that there are some logical reasons for leaving early if a kid is emotionally and mentally prepared for it. ... It's a trade-off. There's no "right" decision, just a decision. I think most high-end kids (and their parents) DO realize this. A growing number of kids/families are ...

I think that OTSN has gone away. They have been replaced by MN Hockey Center. Their streaming schedule was posted in last week's LPH. In one of the weirder schedules around, Wayzata will play 20% of their schedule by December 1st. Andover and Elk River both open their season against them while the Trojans will be playing their 4th and 5th games of the year.

Nothing against either coach as I'm sure they are great coaches and great people. MSHSL stresses it's not about winning to the HS coaches but then time after time they give the coach of the year award to the coaches that have great success in the win lose catagory. The MSHSL doesn't give this award...

I don't know why you keep putting down North Korea. We would be lucky to have Kim Jong-Il in on this debate. Don't you remember when he went golfing for the first time and made 11 holes in one?
