It was fun to observe Coach Klatt at the tourney last season. He was into it! He was all-in for his players, wanted them to reach the top - and it showed. A great ambassador for MN high school hockey.

And to the highest bidder, more of a chance to slide in on the roster. boy a and boy b pretty much equal goes the boy onto the roster with more money and influence from his family........ That must be why they ask for your bank account number on the application form. Even if you want to beli...

Coaching in today's world is nearly impossible.

Huh. Got some generic examples of why it is nearly impossible?

I like Hermantown's style of play - offense, offense, offense. Sure they give up some goals (their top guys finished +1), but it's really fun hockey to watch and it's worked very well for them over the years you would have to say.

Yes, for sure... but as a reminder, lots of people were also really sure who would win the last presidential election.

Minor point, but "Hermantown is up in AA beating Edina, Eden Prairie, Minnetonka, and Duluth East.", it's really more like Hermantown is up in AA beating Wayzata, Roseville, Hopkins, Grand Rapids, WBL, Brainard and Bemidji - looking at the past recent history of their schedule. I don't so ...

If Hermantown doesn't beat Breck handily, there is far too much positive press on the team from up north.

Any high school student (athlete or not) should be able to move easily from one school to another. Competition is sorely lacking in K-12 education. A school gets a good reputation, students will flock there - causing all schools to get better. As for athletics, you don't want to create temporary pow...

Re: U18s mens national roster question

Why isn't there more Minnesotan's on this roster, I just see one backup goalie listed. I'm not sure what the selection process is but I would imagine there was top talent here in MN missed... Can someone explain how USA Hockey works? http://u18mensworlds.usahockey.com/news_article/show/500432?refer...

Common sense would have to say that most outstate players (especially slam-dunks like Nelson) wouldn't bother with this kind of stuff. Invited, but declined.

Money grab - plain and simple. If you and your kid aren't connected to the right people, you're wasting your money. Kids that did virtually nothing in the festival, make the final 54. Shameful. Okay. What players in the past have not made it to the Final 54, but have later on made it to D1 - meanin...
