The article states that he "dropped an F-bomb" one time, which he admits. It does not in any way state that it was directed to a player, or that there has been any verbal abuse of players. Could have been, but nowhere is that stated. This is how things run inside a hockey program. A situa...

I do wish there was a place to watch it.

I don't think The Horn is doing it, probably because of other duties related to the Vikings game would be my guess, but not sure.

Re: Trouble in WBLhttp://www.stateofhockey.com/news_article/

In regards to the Stillwater situation I think I read that he was forced out by parents on coaching decisions on x,y,z. Plus favored playing time for his own daughter. At least that's what was disclosed in the article I read a couple years back. Doesn't sound like this was the case at WBL. Not sure...

Re: Trouble in WBLhttp://www.stateofhockey.com/news_article/

Make no mistake, there is a subset of the current teams parents that have stopped at almost nothing to subvert, discredit and otherwise besmirch the reputation of the coaching staff for WBL, which all has an extremely positive reputation both within the hockey community as well as the white bear co...

http://www.stateofhockey.com/news_article/show/868726?referrer_id=3719763 Unfortunately, this type of story is becoming more of the norm. Parents vs Coaches. Take away details of what happened or why it happened, it was parents directly confronting high school coaches in a negative fashion. The par...

Brian's dad went to hill. Wanted Brian to. Brian opted for WBL

coach, this was brought to my attention also, and I had hoped to let it play out longer to see if maybe it was only an anomaly...or just silliness 1 caveat is that none of this is on the kids, lets keep that in mind.. Yup. Queue Fire Sager sentiments.

I think he is totally checked out, and just biding time to retirement, but it not going to happen.

AD is retiring and new one prob won't want to rock the boat.
And when was Sager "checked in?"
Fair point.

doesn't MV have a locker room at Vadnias, so are they getting the boot as well? But, Stillwater will only need to play two of them, a...

Mattson 51?

He did not impress me at the state tourney. I wonder if it's based on his size, or he was just way off in the tourney. I wouldnt touch him though.

It would be nice to see some of the coaches that the game has passed by retire and give some other aspiring coaches a chance. That is intriguing. Any "pass their time" coaches you have in mind, and who you think might be ready for "prime-time"? Curious who people think should be...

Don't have a problem with it: if the coach chooses to sit a kid for disciplinary reasons, that is his decision. But if he is still on the official roster, then he deserves a medal with the rest of his teammates He shouldn't have been on the roster if he was ineligible due to a MSHSL rules violation...

Seemed to me the whistles were swallowed in all games up until the final and then they called it tight. Confusing. Officiating is one of the things my non-hockey friends laugh about regarding hockey; "What do you mean, they call things one way during the regular season, another in ot, playoffs...

if you watched him through the handshake line and his post game press conference I think you would think he is full of class. Kids get emotional and I don't doubt he had some choice words for the officials, but I don't think that makes him classless. I'm not sure I believe him swearing at scorers i...

I don't have a problem with that. I guess we'll see if the MSHSL does but I would be surprised if they did. He is on the team and served his suspension. Classy move by Klatt if you ask me. The suspension is not yet served. x # of games or two weeks of, whichever is longer. Will sit beginning of fal...

Somebody please just explain how Hacking Hank makes the all tournament team. One assist in three games and Wayzata's best 5 minutes all week is when he's sitting in the box for a major. I will be interested to see if Rapids can return next year. They don't appear to lose a ton, and if McLaughlin is as good as people say, I think he makes up for whatever loss Mattson is considered.

miller was the best Rapids forward in the first two games, and it wasn't even that close.

Most suburbs rise and fall pretty fast. Prior Lake already has a drop in numbers after nothing but growth for several years. 5 Bantam teams 5 PeeWee teams 6 Squirt teams (will not yield 5 bantam teams in 3 years) Maybe just a dip as they appear to have a lot of mites. Some coaches coach to win, and some coach to not lose. Sager fits the second role to a "T". Bears played aggressive for the first two periods and controlled play. Had a 2-0 lead until 30 seconds left in the period when the Ponies scored just after a PP ended. Third period starts and you c...

Re: 4AA Final: Stillwater vs. Hill-Murray

The Hill-Murray Pioneers face its true top rival, the Stillwater Ponies, Friday at Aldrich Arena for a trip to State. Sadly we have to declare the rivalry with White Bear to be dead. 1 WBL victory in 20 matches and now they don't show up for for section finals any more. Sad, but true. Just because ...
