Re: New Arena in Proctor opens next week

kniven: Don't be shy, you have a unique opinion that needs to be heard. Barney Rebel and Fred Flinstone are impressive skaters . David Banner is a nice player too. Steve Austin can really inspire his teammates with his play. Flintstone--There is a reason why they call him "twinkletoes" Banner-- nic...

Re: What determines an associations top team placement?!

Okay, to anyone still following this topic, I'll throw this one out there: You have 49 skaters at Bantams. How many teams do you declare and with what roster sizes? (FYI - your district does not have a Bantam C league) How many goalies at that level? Is the top team going to be a AA or an A team? 7...

Re: New Arena in Proctor opens next week

Is Proctor going to become the new Greenway after Greenway becomes the new Hermantown? It could become very interesting: Marshall--do they opt to A and can they regain the position they had as the 7A leader before the rise of Hermantown? Greenway--can they sustain the current level of success or is...

That’s a good question I think Greenway and Proctor would be nice co leaders routinely in 7A.
Marshall and Hibbing should make it a 4 way battle.

Re: New Arena in Proctor opens next week

Congrats to Proctor and all those who made it happen. It will be interesting to see how the new arena affects the program and 7A hockey.

Re: Is Greenway turning into Hermantown?

So, looking through this thread... Greenway has 5 kids coming in this year from other places? 2 - Hibbing, 1 - Ohio, 1 - Elk River, and 1 - Out East. Seems legit. Must be the long term development they talk about up there. Taking on Hermantown in the 7A Finals 2018 Hockey Day Minnesota 2019...

Re: Possible Mr. Hockey Finalists 2018-2019

So you are saying Chaska or Duluth East. Are you kidding me? Chaska? Chaska hockey? This Chaska kid will have to be Wayne Gretzky reincarnated . Common people. Do we have to be fair, politically correct, and equal opportunity on the forum? I don't get this part. Wayne Gretsky isn't even dead, so I ...

Odds look pretty good that Greenway is going to get two more kids moving in. Will know for sure about one of them later this week. I have mixed feelings about this. Certainly want Greenway to be a great team but it doesn't feel quite right to get all of these "imports". Unfortunately that's how hig...

STMA joining the Lake conference, it has been agreed upon. Maple Grove would like to join the Lake also I'm sure but admin won't let them split from from Osseo and PC. I'm guessing since most team's schedules are already finished or mostly finished they will not be starting the conference schedule ...

Great question. Although I already knew from doing it last year and keeping up on the MNHockey site I was also forwarded all the info from Coach Flaherty at Duluth Marshall. I know for a fact that every other HS coach in the area also received the same email to send out for invites. I believe the r...

What is the invite process? I heard that any 03s (for HP15) that played A/AA were automatically invited, but that coaches could also nominate B players.

With Hermantown having both A and AA teams, I could see 13 invites.

I don't think hockey is dying up north. Part of the issue is hockey is getting so much stronger in many areas. Hard for Roseau with a max of 2 teams at each level to compete with teams that have 3-5 teams at each level. Grand Rapids, Duluth, Hermantown, Moorhead, etc are all doing fine, but the sma...

I wonder how many State A championships it will take to avenge that loss? Hey, they still got to go to State! (albeit Class A) And I think Coach Andrews (frankly) has the balls to move Hermantown up to AA following next season...which I applaud! He does seem more willing, but it will be an uphill b...

Yea. I was so looking forward to seeing Greenway in the state tournament this year. Hermantown got 7A wrapped up for the next decade. Greenway returns most of their team next year. Perhaps they’ll even have an effective 3rd line. I expect them to challenge Hermantown again. Don’t give up just yet o...
