The Hawks got outplayed and pummeled. Period.

Congrats to Alexandria. Very well played team effort.

Jeffy,

Regardless of the content posting those financials and proprietary minutes goes way beyond the level of appropriate. And because it was a topic to be discussed in minutes doesn't make it fact. You are way over the line there.

"in the minutes from a year or two ago"...You don't think there have been disgruntled parents who come into meetings frustrated because their player didn't make a top team?... and the reason was so and so moved in and was "recruited"? I am sure that likely happened (no idea) and ...

The 2nd class was created for "the little guy" not the privates and wealthy communities. play A hockey at the youth level, or play AA at the high school level. Get off your high horse, you were never even in a section final before 2 class hockey never the less made a state tourney, and ye...

Let's see philosophical Eveleth's or North Shore's of the world even break into the top 20 in A even before you can have that discussion. That is unless your ok with sending a team from the North down for a participation trophy. Eveleth will be in the top 20 soon. Maybe even top 10 in a couple year...

Thanks Kniven. People in the program seem happy too (none of us have any say in the HS decision making process however). That being said, I expect, (and support) an opt up after next year. Just my guess. I would add that when it happens it's not due to pressure from the outside. It would be a decis...

keep in mind...most the schools that "opt" up are very near AA size. Heck even Mahtomedi is within 50 kids of having to opt up. We are barely half AA size. And yes, that is even WITH open enrollment. Your Pee Wee AA team is ranked #1, Bantam AA is top 10 & you’re trying to STILL RATIO...

I believe their dorms are only for International students. It will always be tough for Marshall. Parents can send their players to Hermantown for free and they roll out the red carpet for every one of them. Their program depends on it. I think Jeffy wishes his program had that problem too. His non-...

Is there any truth to Duluth Marshall building dorms on campus. All their usual recruits going to Hermantown an East. I personally think they don’t have much future without dorms. They could then recruit hockey players from across the country. And everybody knows that Hermantown hockey attracts tal...

Ely varsity is not exactly a superstar mark on the resume. May or may not make it big. Give the kiddo time to develop. 7AA nor 7A is not going to get excited until he proves himself. He will have plenty of time. Thats how Htown is.... seniors lead, jrs follow, soph sit down and shut up ...and fresh...

Plenty of very talented varsity ready 9th graders have been kept in bantams over the years. I too would be very surprised if PA changed that tradition. Bantams play twice the number of games it is arguably better for development.

Yes - he'll be ready to jump in and play well. And the point is another elite player moving in when most people from the town deny it..... Zero programs would turn down talent. That may be true. But when open-enrollees and transfers are the reason you dominate Class A, not many programs would stay ...

IF this rumor is true...it will be interesting to see if the new coach insist he stay in Bantams as has been past practice with Plante. Big jump from the competition he saw playing in Ely HS or not.

Re: Hermantown arena

Is/are there plans for a new arena in Hermantown within the next 5-10 years ? Would the boys ever combine with Proctor like the girls? The girls in A so the boys could stay in A. Just curious...... They're in a tough spot as far as a new Arena. For all of the advantages open-enrollment brings to th...

It would be a shock if Pat Andrews isn't the new coach in Hermantown. Not sure what's taking so long. Zero chance that Esse coaches at Hermantown. Their mindset is the exact opposite of his. They will not be playing big boy hockey any time soon. I believe the Hermantown position closed before Esse ...
