The sport of football has weathered this kind of publicity before, in the late 1800's there was calls to abolish it. Nothing really new here and the game is more popular than ever. Of course it's popular. It's a very entertaining game and people love it. If you or your kids aren't the ones out ther...

So.........are there any other teams in 7A? My prediction hasn't changed much since the last update. 1. Hermantown-Loaded up and down the roster. The only question I can even conceive of for this team is chemistry. As long as they get their top six forwards in the right spots, then they will once a...

If Hermantown wants to stay in Class A that doesn't bother me even though it means Greenway has very little chance, if any, of ever going to state again. The point that I would make is that you don't know what you are missing by not getting to state for the AA tournament. I wouldn't exchange Greenw...

If your kid is not in the program it is easy to say. If you are in the program your perspective would likely be much different. Like I said couldn't be happier with the experience my boys have had in the association. Regardless, none of us in the youth program have any say to what the HS program do...

Again, (this is my opinion) we are where we belong because at this time. At best, we would be a very average to below average AA school. (See teams like Roseau or Cloquet over the last how many years as an example) Not sure what part of this people do not understand. To have depth you need big numb...

Well, 45-50 players would be a huge tryout for most A teams. I would agree that school size is not the only determining factor of high school success, but it can dictate the potential of success. Where it gets messy is when one youth association feeds multiple high school teams (see St. Cloud), or ...

If a kid is good enough it doenst matter if he plays A or AA. See Aamodt or Pionks or Leblanc, Jared Thomas, Sandelin, etc. List goes on there... I would agree. But given the choice I think most would pick AA competition if they could. Look at the 10 finalists for Mr. Hockey every year. How many of...

Tell that to Bruce I've had a chance to talk to a few of the main players in Hermantown Hockey this offseason. All of them realize that they should be in AA and that the program is being held back. One of them even stated that it's hurting all of Northern Hockey by them staying in A. It's tough for...

Re: Class A:Top 10
Class A: Hermantown and Breck, with deep and talented teams, will prove to be the best in Class 1A. Their defensemen are as good as any in the state, regardless of Class A or AA. Both teams can survive any injuries that might occur. Their goalies will come along as season progresses, but will rarel...

Re: Go north
Hermantown would be the best environment for a transfer without question. They have more transfers there than any program in the State. So you already have a support group and community within a community. You don't have to worry about the coaches either because a lot of them don't live there eithe...

Re: Go north
Forget Metro. Go North and experience true Minnesota Hockey, where you play association hockey with your classmates, without nearly as much political bs. Moorhead, Roseau, Warroad, Grand Forks, Alexandria... pick one. None of these towns will target your family like you would experience in the Metr...

Re: Unusual scenario at Greenway
A talented Greenway player enrolled at Cloquet this year as a 9th grader. He now has transferred back to Greenway as of this week. When is he eligible to play for Greenway? His sophomore year or his junior year? He will be eligible for Varsity next year. Cannot play Varsity this year. Since he is i...

I'll bite, if you want the best schools/hockey programs, the west/southwest metro is the place to look (Edina, Minnetonka, Eden Prairie, Wayzata). You'll hear frequently on this forum about how awful/obnoxious/privelaged these places are, but don't listen to them. They are all excellent communities...

Just chiming in on Duluth East BAA....I'm guessing not this year. On DAHA's website: All City Bantam AA Head Coach Position Available. Lot's of unknowns how this will pan out. At one point both west Duluth and Duluth east associations voted not to make any combined Duluth youth teams years back. I ...

Sounds like Luverne found their new coach. Kullen Schroht, assistant from last year, was hired I believe. Yes. They was announced back on 9/10/15. Was there a press conference or where was the announcement? Yes, there was a huge press conference. I don't know how you could have missed it. It was at...
