The Ivy League just canceled all fall sports so you can surmise what's next.
The Ivies delayed winter sports to January 1.

Re: Will there be high school hockey for 2020-2021?

The Rochester Mayor and city council just put the most restrictive mask order in the nation. It makes masks mandatory in all public buildings, bars, restaurants, retail stores, gyms, sports facilities, recreation and fitness centers, and outside when 6 feet of distance can not be maintained. This o...

Re: Will there be high school hockey for 2020-2021?

The reason to look "out East" is the same reason Florida, Georgia, Texas and Arizona should have been paying attention to the East in April and May, not belittling the region or claiming "victory." There are lessons to be learned and knowledge to be acquired. The reality is this virus is out of cont...

Re: Will there be high school hockey for 2020-2021?

FWIW, on the college side, Amherst, Bowdoin, and UMass Boston have cancelled all sports during the fall semester. That also includes winter sports such as hockey, which will not start competition until Jan. 1 (if at all). I imagine the whole NESCAC will eventually follow suit, which could lead to a...

Re: Recruiting window for '22s

So was it lifted for a time starting June 15 and now they have closed it? There are two timelines going on here: (1) Telephone / email / video chat communication with recruits - Class of 2022s were allowed to communicate again with coaches as of 6/15. That hasn't changed. (2) In-person evaluation h...

Westy, he’s referring to Kurth & Schimek.
Both will be playing Juniors
They aren’t the only ones I am talking about. Others will score a lot of goals.

I’ll throw out a few more top 10 2003 Forward names I’ve been hearing, with Blake and Lamb getting the most votes so far : Fechko ,Fisher, Huglen, Borst , Marshall Along with Bump and Strand and Mahoney mentioned above , that would be ten . Agree with you here. Let's hope Minnesotans don't go to vacation in California, Florida, Texas or Arizona for the next 3 months. If they don't, I have more confidence we'll have a winter hockey season.

The date for coaches to contact athletes directly was yesterday for the 2022 grad year; however, no in person campus visits can take place until Aug 1 I think. Re: Will there be high school hockey for 2020-2021?

Is the hockey playing community really supposed to agree that it's okay for a hockey team of 20 skaters to all work out together in a gym on 6/10, but then needs to self-isolate into 2 groups of 10 people on the ice? That scrimmaging is too "dangerous" because of COVID? That the ice is less safe tha...

It's pretty hard to square what's been going on around the country with some sort of proclamation that youth hockey should be limited to 2 pods of 10 skaters on the ice. Or that there should be any kind of non-social distancing restriction on in-person restaurant dining. I think any attempt to conta...
