Re: No State Tournament at the X this Spring....

MSHSL raising their fees to such crazy amounts is ridiculous. How many highly paid administrators have been cut and let go? How much "fluff" do they have for people to do simple tasks for them. Time to really look at this organization and tighten the belt. Do we really need a guy driving a car arou...

Re: No State Tournament at the X this Spring....

As others are saying, I don’t see any bridge season happening... at least through associations. Too much hassle for six weeks. My guess is that games will be delayed until after Jan 1 and cut back to about 15-17. Teams might be formed and allowed to practice some in Dec. Private groups, booster clu...

Re: No State Tournament at the X this Spring....

Probably where it comes from the other 8 months of the year and where it came from for the 10 years they played hockey before they entered HS. So 2-3 hours a day for practice with U19AA/A and U19B. For games, five hours for the U19AA/A and U19B. Add in the families needing to take care of travel. T...

Re: Zach Halverson

I'm really confused where anybody is talking about profits here. It looks to me like a very sick family that could use some help. That comment isn't about the Halversons AT ALL. I wish they didn't have to fundraise to cover expenses like health care. They shouldn't have to. I'm not going any furthe...

Many of us know Zach from the Horn , Kfan , Wild Radio , etc He and Mom and Dad have a bad case of Covid . He and Mom are in hospital. Agree! Will be interested to see how Skyler Vetter does in goal for Lvn. Think she only had 2-3 varsity games last year , and did well It's really too bad she isn't playing girls' hockey in the winter seasons. It would make for a better girls' hockey product, and maybe Lakeville North's roster woul...

I hope you don’t mean Randy? My kid would run through a paper sign at the start of a football game for him. He’s truly a cutting edge coach all the promoting on social media, building the program from nothing, calling coaches on our girls behalf. Rumor I keep hearing that he is in line D1 job proba...

Re: Minnesota Hockey Taking Over?

Can I just ask, is anyone's kid not playing their full summer schedule? Tournaments are happening everywhere, kids are going to different states to play in the big named tournaments, practices are happening, games are happening, Captains practices are starting. You're not seeing kids flocking to th...

Re: Elite league

HF has a ton of young talent, their 2023's are very, very good and they added others (not sure of the names) The schedule has been upgraded too - they're definitely going to have it a little tougher. Might not have the horses to get past Tonka this year, but they're doing everything right to make t...

Re: Elite league

HF was 20-5 last year and I wouldn’t doubt they do better than that this year. They have established themselves as one of the most dominant programs in the MSHSSL and Winny’s Os programs. Elite league there will be at least 9 players playing in Elite league, that’s the most out of any program in th...

Re: NAHA rosters- the U19 JWC team is heavily weighted to Holy Family players, plus another couple from HF on the U16 roster- I count 8 ttl players from HF. And lots of top players missing from 2022/2023 grad years. No players from Edina, Wayzata, or Tonka, very little representation from Breck & B...

According to the YHH stream of the championship of the U19 division of the Finnesota Cup, Madison Brown (leading scorer in North Dakota last season as a ninth grader) will be at Andover this season. She'll be lucky to be a third-liner this winter. Not belittling her talent at all, because she's rea...

Not the perfect place for this, but.... NAHA Labor Day tournament this weekend. Quite a bit smaller than normal. Only two local teams, one U19 and one U16. Here is a link to an interactive website that covers return to play for the United States https://sparxhockey.com/pages/usa-map I can't recommend a Sparx sharpener highly enough. Easily portable to tourneys, and has saved me thousands of dollars in sharpenings / trips to a sharpener / gas, etc. Wel...

Re: Minnesota Hockey Taking Over?

You just rattled off names of ELITE level, professional athletes. Your analogy of lumping in H.S. hockey players and them is terrible. They were all in high school when they were homeschooled. A number of players playing HS hockey this winter will end up in the NHL or NWHL. How many are currently i...

Re: Minnesota Hockey Taking Over?

How about if we a school is in online mode? Or hybrids? How will that effect season games? Ok hockey dads no school for Johnny but go ahead and play your games? Really, ridiculous This would be the most health-proactive way to do it. It's what hockey players have done this summer and I've only hear...

Re: Minnesota Hockey Taking Over?

If everyone would please just wear a mask, keep socially distant when possible, and isolate when displaying symptoms, the kids will get a winter hockey season. It appears the whole point of the response the past 6 months was to monetize and politicize, instead of minimize. Let's all be smart and mov...

Re: Covid-19 has stopped training at MAP North

Let’s come at it this way. Which team trains at these arenas? And then we can talk about how many schools are going to be effected by hockey dads decision. MAP is a workout program. Kids from Andover, Mounds View, Irondale, Blaine, etc. This is why I want the MSHSL to keep a complete winter season....

Re: Covid-19 has stopped training at MAP North

We all knew this was possible. It's part of the process. The big issue here is the tracing. Who trains at MAP, where have those people also trained/played at, are they quarantining, are they letting others know of the outbreak? Most importantly, however. THANK YOU for sending out this information. I...

Re: MSHSL moves football to spring

So what you guys are saying is” give me high school hockey or I’ll take my kid elsewhere”? Very mature. You guys were the kids who said I quit and took the ball home with you so no one else could play! MSHSL should not make decisions based on others decision to not follow the rules or put their kid...

Re: MSHSL moves football to spring

The reality is kids are fully playing. Full tournaments and games. The MN Tier 1 Fall League is playing. If they do cancel the HS season, there will be groups that pop up to offer a "season" of hockey. If just won't be the high schools. There are already leagues popping up to fill in for/or until j...

Re: MSHSL moves football to spring

College football is toast for the fall. The MAC was the first domino to fall, and the Big Ten and PAC 12 are expected to announce cancellations this week. The remaining leagues will have no choice but to follow suit. A multi-billion dollar industry is shutting down, which should tell us that there ...
