Re: MSHSL moves football to spring

The reality is kids are fully playing. Full tournaments and games. The MN Tier 1 Fall League is playing. If they do cancel the HS season, there will be groups that pop up to offer a "season" of hockey. If just won't be the high schools. There are already leagues popping up to fill in for/or until ju...

Re: Transfers 20-21

Things could get interesting with school's decisions about online vs. in person. Hearing that some privates may do online only. That may prompt some parents to not wanting to pay that type of tuition for online classes. Also may work the other way where some privates are offering in person vs. the p...

If the Pro's can play the kids should be able to play.
Kind of like if you can have 1000's at a protest, you should be able to attend church.

Watched it. Very well done.
Sad story about Minnesota's Maggie NIchols, as it appears she was punished and left off the Olympic team for speaking out.

Hunter: Nothing in my comments weighed in on whether the guidelines were right or wrong. The guidelines may, or may not, be necessary for public health and safety. My point was about our individual freedoms and the rule of law. And who should be making these decisions. We live in a representative Re...

Re: Will there be high school hockey for 2020-2021?

Crazy: I am happy for Alberta, but I think you miss my point. Minnesota doesn't have any laws laying out the guidelines. Nor do most of these states or Providences. They are executive orders. The one state that has legally challenged the authority of the Governor, Wisconsin, is completely open becau...

Re: Will there be high school hockey for 2020-2021?

A lot of back and forth about what this disease really is and isn't. There are a lot of unknowns. To answer the question, "will we have a hockey season?" I would say no --- if we respond this way to every new virus or disease, there will never be a hockey season EVER. We have had bird flu, SARS, Ebo...

Re: Will there be high school hockey for 2020-2021?

THE GOVERNOR CAN NOT DICTATE HOW WE LIVE. HE HAD LIMITED EMERGENCY POWERS. UNDER STATE LAW THESE GO AWAY JUNE 15. The legislature is the policy making body. They create the laws. Outside that, businesses or the state high school league determine how they react to this virus.

The Governor's emergency powers end on June 15. To declare a peacetime emergency he has to fulfill the following MN Statutes 12.31 "A peacetime declaration of emergency may be declared only when an act of nature, a technological failure or malfunction, a terrorist incident, an industrial accident, a...

Re: Blake and Breck

The fact that they would be dumped into a section with Edina, Blake, Wayzata and BSM might be one reason. If MN hockey had more even sections it might be more appealing. When you already have 8 of the top 15 teams in two sections it doesn't make for very competitive state tournaments.

Any changes from the beginning of the season? I would say Nicholson still is probably the favorite given her contributions to the gold medal. But Mobley and Langseth's stock has risen.

Now that the 23 man rosters are out I count 14 MN's coming directly from HS on the USHL rosters and 29 on the NAHL rosters. Congrats to all the MN's moving on and continuing their hockey. Looks Like Eden Prairie leads with 4, followed by Duluth, Minnetonka, Chaska and Holy Family with 3. Seems like ...

Re: Which Varsity programs utilize their JV teams well?

Generally the larger programs with more numbers will utilize their JV's for their sophomore players. Smaller programs need younger players to come up earlier to fill the rosters.
