Re: MN Lakers 14U to Nationals
My point is Minnesota Hockey refers to any non-Minnesota Hockey program as "for profit" even though, as you point out, some aren't for profit. The bigger question is why is Minnesota Hockey preventing kids opportunities in the fall? My thought is self-preservation for HP, but I'd love to h...

Re: MN Lakers 14U to Nationals
If you are paying Minnesota Hockey its ok and you are doing things for the right reason. If you are paying the Blades or Blue Army its not ok and you are paying a "for profit" entity. Its pretty black and white.

Re: MN Lakers 14U to Nationals
Allowing the Blades to play at Nationals would not end association hockey. Why not let kids play wherever they want until their high school or association season starts? The only teams that Minnesota Hockey designates Tier 1 status for (outside of SSM) are their own HP teams. Another way this could ...

Re: MN Lakers 14U to Nationals
Its interesting that Minnesota Hockey likes to characterize any non-Minnesota Hockey program as "for profit". Look at the cost associated with playing HP in the spring. $100 tryout (two days on ice) $175 Phase 2 (6-7 days on ice) $250 Spring Festival (one weekend) $700 State camp (one week...

Zero transfers in the final group. Maybe that has something to do with it.

Re: Fall Hockey
So MNHockey essentially denies any club or program that could compete with their product?
As Phunnsie says there are limited options on the girls side. Why would MNHockey limit them even further?

Re: Fall Hockey
Can someone explain why the boys side of fall hockey is so much different than the girls side? Why do the top boys skip HP in the fall and play for the Blades or a different U16 program (Lakers, Blue Army)? Why does that not happen on the girls side? The pool is much shallower on the girls side whic...

Re: Spring HP Rosters - By the numbers (and schools)
Could you pull the numbers from the Final 54 per school. That would be a much more interesting list. Almost anyone can sign up and pay the money for the first round.

If your daughter received calls in 9th grade the school calling her violated NCAA rules.

Thanks for filling me in. No hostility here. I see nothing wrong with a family deciding to go to a certain school if they believe their child's experience will be better, whether its for academics, arts, or athletics reasons. Coaches going out an actively pursuing families is a different story and I...

Not an expert here but did the Eden Prairie goalie play youth hockey in EP? Doesn't Eagan have a girl who played for Farmington in youth hockey? Didn't South St. Paul's goalie play youth hockey in Hastings? Didn't Forest Lake's superstar goalie play in two or three different youth associations? I'm ...

Basically he's saying Stillwater is set up to succeed because the rest of the conference / section is falling apart. If how you define success is the likelihood of not cooping and fielding a full squad, then they are definitely set up for success. If they finish in the top 3 in their conference in t...
