Re: Recruiting experience after rule change

I think that a combo of 4 websites can get you the best feel for what is spoken for spot wise. It is a really tough to figure any of this stuff out unless you are the most elite of elite players (or parents). So much unknown in the process and constantly wondering if your kid should be reaching out ...

Re: High school programs #s in Elite league

Since we're yakking about the elite league, let's bring it back to high school... Certainly supports that Edina/Blake/Andover are at a different level. Breck seems to be ready to field another team capable of competing at AA (at every position except parents and administration, apparently). It is p...

Re: Elite league

Great couple of posts!!! A couple of thoughts for y'all who have posted and other readers to respond to (opinion alert...OPINION ALERT!!! You know what they say about opinions...): 1. Teams are fairly well matched but I choose Black for the best team. I like their Defense as a whole much better and ...

Re: Elite league

Heard thru a friend that the Grey team is pretty legit. About 1/2 of the squad played on the U19 white NAHA team + a bunch of other ballers. Red looks to be better than last year but with the best of the rest outside of U19 White/Black & U16 Grey (2020's & 2021's) they are going to be 3-6 goal under...

Re: NAHA

Birth year stuff is ONLY relevant imo with USA hockey. Look at the rosters of the teams in each division. Not one mention of birth year ONLY graduation years. That is what matters to coaches from every D1 school in the country along with nearly all relevant D3 schools from the northeast and many Can...

Re: Elite league

The fact that there are not published rosters and more info out there is frustrating for sure. There are kids out there that are still waiting to find out what team they are on and others know their team for Elite League. The organization piece of these things appear to be a cost of doing business w...

Re: Class AA rankings

Andover is going to be good...really good...for a long time. Graduated a nice goalie and what I think was a 2nd line F (committed to Bemidji and would be 1st line on nearly any other team in the state other than the top 5-8 teams). Edina graduated a lot but they always reload and are the best youth ...

Re: Rumors from the rink

Generally probably a good idea on the name(s) of the player(s) in a situation like this. Many can figure out who the players are in many situations whether it is on the girls side or the over on the boys side. To address the other rumor: * I did NOT hear the Elite rumor(s) but I like the attendance ...

Re: Class A Preseason Rankings

Body you are absolutely correct. Why move up with the playoffs being so section heavy and unseeded state wide. It is very unfortunate for the rest of class A because it is not fair what Breck has done. Breck will give Blake a run for their money again this season and for the next several seasons but...

Re: Elite league

I wish that they did statistics as well. Girls Elite League is a great thing in its current form and the great things FAR outweigh the frustrating ones. Some excellent things about GEL: 1a. It gives a bunch of girls an opportunity to play high end hockey in their own part of the state in the fall vs...

Re: National and Select camp selections...

agree with your points Lake South... I am not super familiar with all of the east coast kids but am with most MN girls, SSM, and some others. Team Red is stacked imo. Who knows if they will play well together as a team but with Nicholson (a favorite to be a captain on the U18 team with Murphy & Webs...

I heard the other day of a high profile goalie that was shopping around late this spring. Now plans to make a move from a small powerhouse to a big powerhouse on the west side.

Re: National and Select camp selections...

Saw on twitter that the leading scorer's brother committed yesterday to the Gophers...wonder if that is where Samantha will end up...feels like that is a definite possibility. They are both very talented hockey players.

Any brother/sister tandem better than the Kessel's...ever?

Re: National and Select camp selections...

I have heard from a couple of people over the last year that the MN 04 class is remarkably deep but 5 seems like a lot for the 66/select camp in July. I like to look at the geographic distribution of kids that make camps as MN selections: Looks like Andover and Edina are strong across all camps agai...

Re: Coaching changes 2019/2020

I agree with EPDad. Generally, not always, a kid that plays at a private opens up a spot for a kid at the public school close to where they live. As long as the public school program does not fold or does a coop that causes kids to not play for any reason it is a net win for hockey. Speaking to the ...

Re: Competitive Section Assignments

LOL. Christmas came early for section 2AA (Eden Prairie) and 8AA. A lump of coal for Minnetonka & NWC (and Sections 6AA & 7AA). LoL on Section 6. Change the haha to tonka. Joke is on them... Section 7 adds NWC to make it more competitive. Now 7 of the LPH top 10 are in 2 sections...and that does not...

Mound Westonka has not seen anyone like Breck yet this year. Yikes.
It was 2-0 when i typed that. I expect Warroad to do the same to Proctor and should be a good A final tomorrow.

Re: 2019 STATE TOURNAMENT

Watching the Farmington v WBL game for the last 10 minutes. Wow. The penalty box is a very popular place in this 1-1 game in the 2nd. I have seen maybe 5 penalties in 10 minutes?

I like that it is streamed...
