I had heard the u15 coaching decision in Saint Paul was related to the fact that last year's u12a coach EZ is also the JV coach at Cretin, the school that many of the St Paul girls hope to join. Is this common that the u15 or 14 coach is also the JV coach? Not clear why "covert sexism" wit...

Since you asked, Highland wasn't able to field a whole u8 team this year and the u8 age girls ended up doing evaluations with the mites. Too bad because they used to have two rather large u8 teams.

Is there a rec league program in Burnsville?

I do admire the kids and parents who start hockey at the squirt level or higher. It is a big transition to go from zero hours a week to 5 hours or more.

Some good points were made, but I think there was a lot of emoting about what must have been the author's personal experiences. I felt this article was overly long and that writing it was a form of therapy for the author.

Our association has made no attempt to move away from the pyramid structure of mites -- we still have the 4 C teams, 2 B teams, one A team instead of the 1/3 low, 1/3 middle, and 1/3 high recommended by ADM. If all the teams are equal in size, the pyramid basically requires a 25% attrition rate each...
