Re: Kraft - Most Passionate Hockey Community
Just saw a commercial during the Winter Classic for a contest sponsored by Kraft. They are looking for the most passionate hockey community in America. So what do you all think? Who would you nominate for most passionate hockey community? My take, it's a crime if Warroad, MN doesn't win. First town...

There's no perfect formula for picking this team. I'm guessing other cities have similar issues Minnesota has in trying to pick the right kids for this one tournament. At least the Blades now have a open tryout and this year I heard a handful of kids not on the '04 Blades made the Brick team. Oh an...

After asking the question, I'm now more confused regarding the Minnesota kids at the Brick that didn't play for the Blades..... This is my understanding (and I'm sure I'm wrong) of this year's tourney: Leading scorers for Toronto Bulldogs, BC Jr. Canucks, and Winnipeg Jr. Jets all play summer and/o...

Re: Conflict of interest??
I would like to pose this question to the forum: Our association is conducting our board member election next week. A candidate for our Traveling Director sends his kid (peewee) to NE and MM Choice. In addition, he does have 2 other sons (squirts) that do participate within the association. My ques...

great teams BIG hitters at the next levels licking those chops when a d man passes to his winger at half boards and d man sprints up the gut for return pass at red line from his winger. KAPOOHY That is pond hockey.. but in a checking game of men that is one bad recipe...against the boys it will wor...

Nanne is more offensive than most D men but this is what is generally rewarded. Take a look at a couple of the other D with top billings in the tourney. They were off playing a heck of a lot more offensively compared to Nanne and weren't nearly as effective at either end. Tell me one time Nanne was...

Like I said Naane was hands down the best player for Edina in the tournament. He was also the best Defenseman it the tournament class A and AA. I will even go farther and say h...

Re: Nanne
Considering Ness had several times more points, never had grandpa get him a spot - twice if I'm not mistaken - at the US camp, no :P Ahh. The hating on Nanne continues. I will say I don't think older brother Louie had no business whatsoever being drafted and no business even playing D1, i do think ...

Reading this thread, I cannot help thinking what if MN Hockey would open up their residency rule and let any hockey player play where they want. My son use to play soccer and that governed body lets players play anywhere. If this happened in hockey, associations would be forced to get their house i...

Re: Age cutoff
MN hockey June 30th cutoff for age. Rest of North America Dec. 31st. 6 month difference. That is why teams from outside of state can play down. Simple, MN age cutoff means that these teams are younger! Most Squirt A players in MN would be PEE WEE age everywhere else. Get it? Ok. I get it. You are B...

Edina hockey Association is the largest in North America. All the teams are a little diluted at the real young level, but quickly improve as they develop players. The coaching is great, the parents are involved and they win. They also benefit as players transfer through open enrollment, for a chanc...

Re: Just for the record
lots of questions about why AAA teams from around the country can play at tourneys in MN or ND at the B level. Simple, they are younger. The rest of North America uses the Calendar year, MN does not. This is why MN is not allowed to compete at the National level for National championships, and team...

Re: I would also like to know
I would also like to know which teams I should be looking at. We are planning on moving to Minneapolis and looking for a good AAA 04 program. It is confusing to say the least. We will be playing in the Stars and Stripes and the USA International Cup coming up. Would these 2 tournaments give me a go...

Here is a thought for you. Stop bitchin about this on a youth hockey forum and bring it to your association pre...
