Wayzata simply out worked Rapids in the 2nd and 3rd periods especially in their repective defensive zones. The Trojans were blocking shots all night and Rapids was flat footed watching the puck. A much better effort by the orange and black will be needed going forward.

And a ugly win is still ugly.

I would take the Ulland kid from Hibbing any day. His fundamentals are off the charts for a 9th grader. He plays with the confidence and patience that are not found in an underclassman and always square to the puck. The 3 goals GR scored he had no chance to stop.

No offense to Karl but hands down has to be between Duluth East and Wayzata. East had most everybody back and no early departures. Several expected to have big years have fizzled. Perhaps they just weren't that good last year and hit a nice streak of luck at end there? I don't see Gunnar Howg comin...
