Re: Possible Mr. Hockey Finalists 2018-2019

To me, the senior class seems a little weak this year. Couple good candidates but not 1,2 or 3 so called "freaks" Let me pose this questions out to the experts (that's you guys) IF Mr. Hockey allowed the winner to be a JUNIOR and not only SENIORS......Who would win Mr. Hockey.... Would it still be a...

Re: Bullying at Hill Murray?

Listen I strongly discourage any remote sign of bullying and certainly hope all parties involved can find peace and closure on this quickly It's a slippery slope between kids getting teased, older kids making young kids earn their stripes and outright bullying. I can think of at least a dozen times ...

Re: NLI Signings

Senior signing day applies to all sports (not just hockey)... Almost all other sports you go straight from High School into college Hockey is the one exception in that so many kids play a year or two of juniors before going to college So the hockey kids signing their LOI's yesterday are most likely ...

Re: Private School Top 10 for 2018-19

This is a great reason why I think private schools should have their own conference. Let them play each other twice a year. How much fun would it be to see St Thomas, HF, Blake, Hill Murray, Cretin and whoever else all in the same conference. Recruiting budgets would triple, rivalries would form, at...

Re: First-ever Minnesota HS All-Star Prospects Game (Nov. 10)

Players were nominated by an undisclosed panel made up by NHL Scouts, College Coaches and other hockey-minded entities

Key words "hockey-minded entities" Maybe someone can share some insight on what that means :D

Re: Elite League Livestream: NTDP u17 vs. N & SW

I could be wrong but I highly doubt the colleges are pulling up the "stats page" and making their picks off it Scouts are looking for kids to make the right play...Sometimes that means skating around 2-3 opponents but usually it means making the pass when your're suppose to make it versus when you h...

Re: 2018 elite league

Couple points 1. Just because a kid didn't play High School hockey doesn't mean a thing. Every year you could easily point out 10-15 Bantam kids who could have easily made their High School team had they chosen to play up (or in some cases, had their High School coach allowed these kids to play up) ...

Re: 2018 elite league

Mavskie Since we are going "back in time" remember hockey was once a sport "originally" played 4 months out of the year. Heck the hockey landscape today has changed drastically from where it was even 3,4,5 years ago. I don't totally disagree with what you are saying. I guess someone from the HS elit...

Re: 2018 elite league

I disagree goalie dad, respectively of course...There is competition everywhere for these kids to choose the best option. On top of that, some of the top juniors and seniors choose to play U16 /U18 while others opt to play USHL or NA. So based on that, should the league take a soon to be 3rd line hi...

Holy Family guy is just trying trying to get us going. These towns typically don't have to recruit. He also knows no one recruits harder,...

I think, 90% of the time it's simply a result of a parent being just a little to anxious. Sometime they are rushing their kid thru the process Sometimes they are unhappy wherever they go Sometimes education isn't factored in or is 3rd or 4th on the list of priorities IN GENERAL, Minnesota kids do no...

I truly can't believe those kids are "older" than what the documents show. If that was true, Minnesota hockey would have done something by now. It use to be a "big deal" to be chosen to play for the Blades or the Machine. I don't think that's the case anymore. Tons of great options closer to home that can now offer similar (and some may argue) better options. Tier 1 isn't going away. It's just getting started. This fall so many kids will ha...

Whatever's easiest I do it that way. If Zach played his entire youth hockey career with Bloomington then I'd say that's good for me. Edina is no doubt a top youth program year after year. The numbers of kids they produce is mind boggling. Most of these kids also have access to a blank checkbook when it comes to "training" and playing the sport year around. For that reason I think they get a huge jump start on some of the other ki...
