"The only thing that would make this ruse of them playing Class A funnier is if they got beat by Warroad in March. Gardner with 4 goals or something."
Yeah the kid from Eagle Lake Ontario beating the recruiters, Lots of irony there.

Kennet brothers are a handful.

Re: Top 03 Forwards Playing MSHSL Next Season
New topic to get the summer Forum covid saturated brains restarted again. The 03s have a very strong D corp But who are the top ten 03 forwards playing high school next year? (excluding SSM and Gentry) Have received quite a bit of variety of answers, so thought Id throw it out to the forum. Seems t...

Re: People wanting to stay A... about single A teams recruiting
I would say that being a class A team near a "metro" area has some distinct advantages that go beyond player movement. Areas like Duluth, Fargo-Moorhead, Grand Forks-EGF, etc. are hockey hubs. Players have access to development that "satellite" programs can't match. I will use EGF as an example. Th...

Re: The Hermantown Thread
I gotta believe there would be 5-6 A teams with no shot of a state title in most years. Travel would be onerous with blind draws for Section tourneys. Agree that A teams might not have a great chance of winning a State Tourney but would make for some interesting David vs Goliath matchups in the Sup...

Re: The Hermantown Thread
How about taking the Top 6 A teams according to end of the season rankings and throw them into 4 Super Regionals with the top 18 AA teams? The remaining A teams would play in their respective Section tournaments to decide the representative from that Section and still have the Class A tournament as ...

Re: Section 8A 2019
As always, it is one of 3 teams in this section. 1. EGF 2. Warroad 3. TRF Yup, although, with the strong Bantam class that Warroad had, they might have the edge this year or next. Warroad's Junior and sophmore classes didn't fare to well against EGF in Bantams, and that was without Parker. Last yea...

Re: Transfers for 2019-20 season
Speaking of Goalies... How about the Big Pick Up of EGF getting Austin Cooley to move across the border to play with them. Played on Team North Dakota for 2 Years and last year was very good for the U16 Sioux Falls Jr. Stampede. Big RECRUIT by the Greenwave... 8A will be very tough but HF and Tonka...

Re: Transfers for 2019-20 season
Warroad and everyone else in Section 8 better get on the recruiting trail if they want to keep pace with EGF. The starting goalie next year is a transfer from Grand Forks who sat out last year. Rumor has it a couple more blue chip recruits from the Grand Forks side have decided to move across the r...

Re: Pridictability of Class AA - state
“Finally, just going to throw out there that there is no Greenway upset story without Hermantown either.” —- Completely agree with this. Take away all the Goliaths and no one cares about the Davids. Why water down class A? I agree with what a couple people have said before... eliminate the opt-up o...

Re: Pridictability of Class AA - state
Alex and EGF vs Moorhead the last four years 0-5-1 The two years that Bemidji went I think they went like 1-4-1 against Bemidji or something like that. A previous post of mine went over the bantam results this year in which both teams got mopped up by their top would be competitors in 8AA. You are ...

Re: Class A 2019-2020
I like the bold call on Orono, as they return nearly everyone. Delano graduates a ton from this year’s team, however. I like TRF quite a bit; they have a stacked senior class. 8A should be quite a dogfight again. As a sleeper outside of the top ten, Little Falls should take over as the clear #3 in ...

Re: Warroad Bantam A State Champs
And East Grand Forks finished third in regions losing to Alex for the state berth spot after beating them in the semis and losing to Warroad in the regions finals. Section 8A will be strong. I know EGF had at least one (possibly 2) Bantam kids playing on the High School team that went to State. 2 B...

Re: Grand Forks Central
I am curious if anyone on this message board has seen the 2018/2019 GFC team play? On paper they appear to be on par with our states best teams (AA or A)? Can anyone from Orono (10- loss) or EGF (5-2 loss) shed light or comment on how good GFC is? It is too bad they don't play any of the top AA tea...

Yea. I was so looking forward to seeing Greenway in the state tournament this year. Hermantown got 7A wrapped up for the next decade. Greenway returns most of their team next year. Perhaps they’ll even have an effective 3rd line. I expect them to challenge Hermantown again. Don’t give up just yet o...

Hermantown, Schmermantown, I have followed this conversation across multiple posts and agree that if I could just go grab what ever stud from whatever program I wanted, it would be a lot easier to increase the depth of my team. However from a EGF point of view, I would much rather coach, train, and ...
