Re: The Hermantown Thread

I have been saying this for years. There are many pros & cons, but most of all, it would require work by the MSHSL. For that reason, it won't happen. First of all... I like your style. Second of all. If you are the Schotzy of Orono... I am still waiting to hear back from you on historic Orono stats...

Re: The Hermantown Thread

As I sat awake in bed wondering what I had done by posting in this forum I thought to myself. “Self, why don’t they have a relegation and promotion system like Sweden does? Or the IIHF where depending on how well you do in the season you bump up or could potentially bump down for those bigger schoo...

Seems silly that they'll play outdoors in -20 weather but not inside when it's a little colder.
Like I said, this is an assumption at this point. If either of the schools plan on canceling classes, I think the cancellation of the game is mandatory.

1/29 - Game Cancelations

Just got word that Duluth Marshall @ Hibbing, 1/29 - 7:30 PM has been canceled. No mention, but the assumption is that it is due to the dangerously cold temps expected over the course of this week.

Post 'em if you got 'em

Sorry if this was asked already, but will the East cloquet game be live streamed or on tv anywhere? I have dish, so I don't believe I have my9
My9 is on DISH if you have local channels to Duluth on your list.

Re: Class A Preseason Rankings

Just as a note on the GF teams for anyone that isn’t aware of the players coming out of there go look at the aviators ranking against MN teams the last two years. Right at the top. Loads of D1 players. I know a couple left early from Red River this year but lots of talent there last year a plenty s...

Re: The Hermantown Thread

I am pretty sure the list was done by Howie Hanson, a local blogger. If you are a familiar with his postings, the list isn't that surprising. The news station would have been better off getting someone like Karl to do the list. I know exactly who it was, but it was not Howie. If you look at the ori...

Re: The Hermantown Thread

Joey Pierce will have his pick of Division 1 Programs, he definitely belongs on this list. He will be the 5th D1 Player from the last four teams that Hermantown was able to pull in from other programs. One was an NHL draft pick as well. Very impressive for a small town, community based, Class A pro...

I think the supportive fan base in GF is a great thing and they should be super proud of Sioux hockey but gosh darn it’s like packer fans, in the solar system of college hockey they seem to think they are the sun! Is it possible for a UMD staffer to become the next Huskies coach? I could see Brett Larson being considered. Brett has been an assistant twice with the Bulldogs. He was present for both National Championship seasons. He was an associate head coach with Ohio State, and was also the head coach/GM wi...

Remember, the local hockey community is actually pretty small so, many people are reluctant to actually name kids whose parents they may be friends with or, even just acquaintances with. This, this right here. Naming names is actually detrimental. These are minors, and do not need us traipsing thei...
