Re: The Argy Bargy 3A Thread 2019-2020

Where is 3A hockey in the state? What’s the history there as regard to high school hockey. Umm.. so a new area of the state gets some interest in hockey.... they obviously love hs hockey, why so negative man? Dont read it if you don't care. Honestly go re live your high school career in 7A or 7AA t...

Bantams vs. High School

I am curious with Bantam tryouts, captains practices happening, and soon high school tryouts, what are your thoughts on kids entering their 2nd year of bantams jumping to high school? I have some thoughts on this, but would like to hear what you all think? I know there are many pros and cons and man...

Also it’s easy to whine about early departures until you have a child good enough to have the option to be one right?

Re: 7AA 2019-2020

Duluth Marshall! That’s not going to last long. Hermantown and Duluth East gobble up all local recruits. They moved to 7AA to protest the hamsters being in 7A. Please go back. It’s embarrassing 😐 Hey Kniven! Yes, it is pretty embarrassing watching my kid play at Marshall. NOT!!! The move to AA had ...

Re: Early Departures 2019-2020

1. After the 1997 7AA final, in which East beat Hibbing, my brother, who was there, told me that after the game Randolph was taunting and swearing at the dejected Hibbing players. Maybe he thought they were taking cheap shots, but even so, that doesn't seem like the adult way to handle it. I was at...

Re: Transfers for 2019-20 season

DM is not moving down I can see how you got that out of my comment, but that is not what I meant. I was indicating that there are AA players at Marshall that could potentially move to single A programs like Denfeld and Hermantown. Sorry.....I really was not clear on that with me previous comment.

Re: Transfers for 2019-20 season

Just to add to the Duluth element. There is also potential for Duluth Marshall (AA) moves down to A. The program could be entering a very precarious stage in their history. Hermantown is not the only landing spot either. Duluth Denfeld (A) could be a landing spot with a lot of potential coming in to...

Re: The Hermantown Thread

I have been saying this for years. There are many pros & cons, but most of all, it would require work by the MSHSL. For that reason, it won't happen. First of all... I like your style. Second of all. If you are the Schotzy of Orono... I am still waiting to hear back from you on historic Orono stats...

Re: The Hermantown Thread

As I sat awake in bed wondering what I had done by posting in this forum I thought to myself. “Self, why don’t they have a relegation and promotion system like Sweden does? Or the IIHF where depending on how well you do in the season you bump up or could potentially bump down for those bigger schoo...

Seems silly that they'll play outdoors in -20 weather but not inside when it's a little colder.
Like I said, this is an assumption at this point. If either of the schools plan on canceling classes, I think the cancellation of the game is mandatory.

1/29 - Game Cancelations

Just got word that Duluth Marshall @ Hibbing, 1/29 - 7:30 PM has been canceled. No mention, but the assumption is that it is due to the dangerously cold temps expected over the course of this week.

Post 'em if you got 'em

My9 is on DISH if you have local channels to Duluth on your list.

Just as a note on the GF teams for anyone that isn’t aware of the players coming out of there go look at the aviators ranking against MN teams the last two years. Right at the top. Loads of D1 players. I know a couple left early from Red River this year but lots of talent there last year a plenty s...

I am pretty sure the list was done by Howie Hanson, a local blogger. If you are a familiar with his postings, the list isn't that surprising. Re: The Hermantown Thread

Joey Pierce will have his pick of Division 1 Programs, he definitely belongs on this list. He will be the 5th D1 Player from the last four teams that Hermantown was able to pull in from other programs. One was an NHL draft pick as well. Very impressive for a small town, community based, Class A pro...
