New ground-breaking study from the Univ. of Wisconsin School of Medicine shows that participation in High School Sports does not lead to an increase in COVID-19 risk. https://www.wissports.net/news_article/show/1129136-uw-study-results-suggest-participation-in-high-school-sports-is-not-associated-w...

Can we all take a break from arguing this? We all want the same things - life to return to normal, to drink low-quality beer with our friends and families, Hill-Murray to lose at State, and Hermantown to move up to AA.
Yup

.....there would be very little loss in development if we just did in house practices and cross-ice/half-ice 3 on 3 leagues for a single year. There might actually be an increase in actual individual skill development. Think of all the power skating we could do. You'd have significantly more puck t...

Hunters & WOM, Just stop. Go find an audience that will actually appreciate your condescension and well, I don't know how to describe it, aside from an annoying, repetitive car alarm going off at all hours of the night. We were all getting along just fine, discussing what could possibly happen with...

Re: Top 03 Forwards Playing MSHSL Next Season

Stats don't necessarily tell as much of the story with D men. Joe Palodichuk has 1 G and 0 Asst, but would put him right toward the top of 03 Dmen, if not the top that are playing in EL. Exactly. D-men should not necessarily be judged on points. I think +/- is a better measurement. Of course points...

Re: No State Tournament at the X this Spring....

Am I fair in assuming that the MSHSL is still meeting today (9/18/20) to discuss winter sports, or was that moved to Monday as well due to the discussion for football and volleyball. I thought I read somewhere that Monday's meeting was exclusively for the football/volleyball discussion. My understa...

On the other hand, college hockey has been delayed until late November: https://www.collegehockeynews.com/news/2020/09/10_Hockey-Officially-Delayed.php Not that it is a huge hit to the prospect of completing a reasonably full season, culminating in some form of championship, but it seems like hocke...

Basketball was deemed less risky by the governors director in charge of return to play protocols. He is a basketball Coach. #Imaginethat To be fair, he's probably been watching a lot of T'Wolves games in recent years and the way they play D is akin to social distancing, so his confusion is understa...

Re: No State Tournament at the X this Spring....

The MSHSL decided during their conference call today to meet Friday to discuss starting the football season Oct. 2nd. Schools were allowed to start practice Monday, so the Oct. 2nd date makes sense. I am hearing the most likely outcome if a season happens is a season ending the Friday before Thanks...

Re: No State Tournament at the X this Spring....

How much do school districts contribute towards ice costs for boys hockey? Would be interesting to see the difference between metro and outstate high schools. I think who owns the ice is a consideration as well. In some cases, the high schools already "own" their own sheet. That does not mean there...

Re: Minnesota Hockey Taking Over?

If everyone would please just wear a mask, keep socially distant when possible, and isolate when displaying symptoms, the kids will get a winter hockey season. It appears the whole point of the response the past 6 months was to monetize and politicize, instead of minimize. Let's all be smart and mo...

Re: Minnesota Hockey Taking Over?

I guess Ill throw out some more questions, apologize if answers have already been covered. 1. For those that lean towards cancel or delay or shorten the HS season, what would be the benchmark for reconsideration? 300 new statewide cases per day instead of 600 presently? 150? Two weeks without any y...

Re: Minnesota Hockey Taking Over?

And what makes you think MH is a money making organization? It's the associations that make most of the $$$. USA Hockey and MN Hockey get a small registration fee, like around $10.00 per player and USA Hockey gets the same. At least from my recollection. Sure they make some money off their tourname...

Re: Minnesota Hockey Taking Over?

Yes you search hard enough you will find an organization that will take your money so your kid can play hockey. The Money making organizations (NAHL, USHL, tier teams, AAA teams) won’t worry about your kids health but yes they will happy to take your money. You don't think MN Hockey/USA Hockey are ...
