Not many spots in the Elite League to tryout for... U19 D & G would appear to be full from Select 66 kids , Forwards could have as few as 3 spots to tryout for... The U16 looks worse because of the bloated numbers from the doubling of 15 Nat invitees by USA Hockey ...the 15"s alone fill the D &G wi...

And with the announcement of players to the 15s Nat and the additional 16s / 17s on the National roster we start to receive emails from Elite League with new opening for the tryouts this weekend (all National Camp selectees are invited to tryout). Some parents even getting the invite to tryout befo...

Is it just me or did a lot of the teams and games seem a step down talent wise from last year? Is the program getting so big the talent is becoming watered down? Don't get me wrong, tons of high end talent and still an amazing program and opportunity. Curious what you guys think. Just my opinion. V...

Not exactly why I just thought of this but thinking about the great group of Andover kids coming up when thinking Futures and had me peeking ahead a couple of years. We may have some epic sections. Andover, Brainerd, Roseau, Stillwater, Forest Lake, Minnetonka all have some really good young groups....

Great post. Lets face it, its all about the $ too. The 15's cut to 30 in order to get more $ from kids, although it isn't that much $ so some may look at it as relatively inexpensive practice but for those in spring sports its more of a pain. The district or section teams would be better at 3 lines ...

Re: All this over silly HP

Come on girls, stop fighting, are you saying the selection process is not fair? And the girls game continues to grow? Pretty soon there will be only two D1 WCHA schools left. Wisc and Gophs, just like the Olympics with USA and Canada. Real excitement. Stop the nonsense chasing the HP dream for litt...

There is a lot more that goes into the selection process, than just the one weekend's on ice performance. Maybe that needs to be communicated more. A player that appears to cut the ice better, appears to have better vision, and looks to be more skilled, may have presented some other qualities that ...

You had stated there are better players not selected and it was easy to see. I was pointing out that those better players (no denying they are really good players) could be substituted for other player and you would still have really good players not selected. There just isn't much difference in th...

There are a lot of really good players that didn't make it. Which ones got screwed??? My guess is if you take the 10 that you think got screwed (at one level) and give them spots and take 10 out then we will simply have a different 10 that got screwed. Probably very little difference between the la...

BTW, I have heard people voice "Edina bias" in the room. I have heard people voice "private school bias" in the room, I have heard people voice "Winny bias" in the room. I doubt any of them really have a clue but it makes them feel better to rip on politics. If there was a college basketball pool to...

They used to brag about 50% turnover from year to year. That's MN Hockey's claim to fame, not USA hockey. Thing is that MN Hockey picks the girls that move on, not USA Hockey. The evaluators will recommend players to move on for selection but MN Hockey has the final say and can over rule the evalua...

Very impressive list. MN always has a great showing at the camps. As always the question moves to who made the camp from the previous year. I know there are still spots to be filled but they are limited. As of now the 2000s have only 3 players making it that did not make it last year to 66s or St. ...

Re: incomplete scores?

How difficult can it be to get box scores up for all of the games? http://www.minnesotahockey.org/schedule/day/league_instance/55552/2017/4/22?subseason=392652&referrer=3304081 They have the information somewhere as someone has enough info to write about it: http://www.minnesotahockey.org/news_arti...

I believe D6 and D2 have a two year combined record of 19-1 at the 15 level as both were undefeated last year and didn't play each other. I thought a lot of those D2 programs are down.

Most people unless their kid is going thru all the way to 66 & National team has some issues. Here are some thoughts: I think that most of us on this board agree that Minnesota girls hockey is clearly the deepest and most talented of any state. There is plenty of evidence to support that. There are...

Thinking more at the older levels where there are less openings. Section 6 has Blake, Breck, Edina, Cretin, BSM,etc.... Yes, adding the Blake girls to that group will make them very strong. Section 6 for 17's won consolation and 16's won 3rd place so its not like they were mopping up without the Bl...
