I didn't see anyone putting down the level of play or how competitive/emotional the games can be between the teams playing. Good for those of you that enjoy A hockey. It's just a preference for me. I'm not ripping it. I pay attention to the scores to see how teams are doing. I just don't go out of m...

I'm with you 7time. I'd rather watch all the AA games before any A games. It's the only tournament that matters to me.

I saw the article in the paper right after I posted that. It would be nice to see it happen.

If STMA has an opportunity to get out of the M8 conference and get into the NWSC they should jump at it. Don't hitch your wagon to Buffalo! You can always schedule them as a non-conference game every year to keep the rivalry. STMA has outgrown the M8 conference and they should play against schools m...

On the STMA coming-on conversation. I heard at a different sporting event from an STMA parent that his child's 1st grade class has 1000 kids. I do NOT no the accuracy of that statement but if true or close to true I think we will be seeing a lot of good STMA teams in many sports. It appears Andover...

STMA's recipe for success.... avoid playing anyone good outside the section, play as few section games as possible, come up big in a winner take all game the night before seeding. Then sit back and laugh as oppposing teams try to fit in the used lumber shed that they call a hockey arena...well play...

From what I have heard, STMA's new rink is scheduled to break ground in August and will be open for the start of the 2018-19 season. I agree with you that there should never be a semi-final game played in that rink ever! It's a joke for HS hockey period. It's one of the many reasons why the hockey c...

It took STMA half of the game to get going last night. Once they did that they controlled it mostly. St. Cloud completely outworked and out hustled them to start. The Knights were a bit fortunate to come out of there with a win. The tying goal was scored from behind the goal line and they benefited ...

Heard a rumor that Mitch Bourgerie of STMA had quit the team. He is their leading goal scorer. But if you check the hub he is still listed as the teams leading scorer, but he is no longer on their roster page, nor does he have a player profile. Big loss for the Knights. It's not a rumor it's all tr...

You can argue that STMA benefited from only playing the northern teams once but as GWF pointed out, logistically it is very difficult to play all of them twice. It has nothing to do with avoiding them or trying to be smart! I suspect this will be the case as long as they stay in the same section tog...

I agree with Elliot as well. It makes the most sense out of a no sense section. A Brainerd/Roseau game would make for a great first round game based on their last meeting. People go back and forth about who beat who and where they should rank but has anyone in this section been impressive? Moorhead ...

Oh my Lord! I have one account on here and one only. What went from a friendly post between people giving opinions on the 8AA seedings, turned into a crazy show when a hockey mom from I guess STMA got all bent out of shape because little Johnies team got called into question! What we can agree on, ...

I'm curious to hear what Elliot sees in Section 8 next year. Bemidji has some fantastic high end back at all positions but seems to lose a good chunk of depth. Seems like they will be a solid threat to threepeat at the X but will drop off a bit from this year. Moorhead loses most of an experienced ...

No I was not at the game but I did get to listen to the last 2 minutes and the post game on Bob FM 106.1. They said while STMA did deserve to win the game Roseau had the better chances in the second period when the score was 2 to 1 but could not get the bounces when they needed or maybe they were n...

STMA has never won a first round section game in it's history unless you count a "play in" or "sub-section" game. Until last season there have never been any expectations for post season play at this school. Last years team fell short of it's goal of making it to Amsoil with a di...

I was at the last half of the Rosemount/Breck game on Tuesday and saw the entire game v STMA yesterday. Versus RM I thought it was a good game giving an edge in play to Breck. RM's goalie played well. Ellingson hit the crossbar on a breakaway with around a minute to go that would have tied it. Again...

Alright, I'll bite. I'm an STMA guy. I don't usually post, just like to read. I think they have a nice team but are hardly top 20 at this point. On paper, this is the most talented, deepest, and experienced team they've ever had. The program has yet to win a Section game in it's history unless you c...

2:15 Edina v ER

There are many other teams playing there that weekend as well. Those are the most notable games for what its worth.
