Re: Transfers for 2019-20 season

....... except if theyve been seen to be visiting other campuses and thinking about Privates? ( including one seen at your Family campus? :D ) If they wanna come to the best High School in regards to academics and visibility to NHL scouts/College Coaches then yeah go to HF. Program is Ran just like...

Re: Transfers for 2019-20 season

Do they still have a residence in STC? Otherwise the kid can't claim a hardship in asking for the transfer right? Is Tonka able to waive the clause and allowing the move? B. Family Residence Change: the student transfers from one public school district attendance area to another public school distr...

Re: Transfers for 2019-20 season

The one thing that gives me pause on Boltmann moving that far is I believe both of his parents are teachers. It is almost certain they would not switch jobs, given how teacher retirement works. So, if it is Boltmann, and "between" classes does mean AA to A, with Statewide implications at the X, sett...

Re: Transfers for 2019-20 season

Okay, what the heck, I'll play. Transfer between classes and the direction of the transfer is very unusual. Everyone is reading this as AA to A. Why would we interpret "between" classes as AA to A? Would that not be "Across" classes? And couldn't "Direction" be Geographical, i.e. Metro to the 218? T...

Re: The Hermantown Thread

What would be an interesting statistic is what percentage of a team’s roster is on free and reduced lunch. I know for Greenway’s full roster there is only one player (bench player) who might be on free/reduced lunch. This f/r lunch figure has a significant impact on the pool of kids that will/can g...

Re: The Hermantown Thread

Kids transferring and families moving into HT is not the issue because it’s all within the rules of the league. If you have issues with the rules you should write or set a meeting with the league office in Brooklyn Park. HT sandbagging it and playing Class A instead of AA is the issue. You're corre...

Re: The Hermantown Thread

Agree with everything you said... except the open enrollment comment. They’d be moving... right? Open enrollment has nothing to do with this one. Once you start 9th Grade, you have to move in order to be eligible the first year. The vast majority of the transfers to Hermantown open-enroll by 9th gr...

I see Blake Biondi didn’t participate in the HP 17’s this Spring...another sign pointing (to him) joining the NTDP U18 team next season =D>
It will be interesting to see what he does now that they stayed down in A. Pierce and Pionk have options as well.

Re: The Hermantown Thread

Well said, IRMN. It is sad what high school hockey has become. No pride in one's hometown or dedication to the kids they grew up playing with. Just looking out for #1. So, who is the family/kid moving into Hermantown? I agree, but lets not put all of the blame here on the kid. The parents of these ...

Re: The Hermantown Thread

Apparently HT is going after a goalie from Cloquet and a leading scorer from Virginia. Hearing that the Virginia "homegrown" transplant bought a house in HT to be eligible for next year. They've been forced to spread out further and focus more on the Range the last few years. But Cloquet hasn't bee...

No, the best athletes are playing basketball or wrestling. Continue to make hockey inaccessible to 80% of the population. Development is a minor issue. If the kid can’t afford to even play hockey after the 4th grade development does not matter. Income does not equal talent. MN hockey better wrap th...

Re: The Hermantown Thread

I heard from a knowledgeable source yesterday (after the next 2 years of Section assignments were announced) that opting to stay Single A for Hermantown will have serious consequences (regarding next season’s roster). I’ll leave it at that ☝️ Hey, they said they're a Single A program. If that drive...

One could argue that ZERO made the 17's
(Ely kid)
One could also then argue that only 3 made the 16's. Two of them open-enroll from Proctor and Denfeld. One transferred in from Hayward, WI.

Re: Class A 2019-2020

Denfeld loses 145 points from their Sr. class which seems to me like a lot. I like the young kids coming up too and the future looks good. But, I would pump the breaks on winning with 10th graders. It’s a big jump from Bantam A hockey to HS. None of those kids are particularly big yet either. I thi...

Re: Pridictability of Class AA - state

The current structure of the MSHSL does not work.Having a structure where a team falls within the guidelines to compete at the designated level only to be attacked and disparaged because they are too good for that level is ridiculous. In Hermantown's case, they aren't "attacked" for being good. It'...

Re: Pridictability of Class AA - state

All the talk about going back to 1 class seems odd too when you think about how everyone loved the Greenway story this year. If we are in a one class system, for Greenway to get to state, not only do they have to beat Hermantown, but also a Elk River/Cloquet quality opponent and then probably East....

Re: Class A 2019-2020

Denfeld losing a ton. They will have 2 forwards and goalies. Period. The 2 forwards returning were Denfelds leading scorers. Denfeld loses #3 & #4 leading scorers but gain at least 4 forwards coming up that can play and score. The forwards coming up are more complete that play far better both ways ...

Re: Biondi gone?

Isn't Biondi a first round pick of Sioux City? Has he played there at all this spring? Hard to imagine he wouldn't be playing with them or NTDP right now. I don't see how another year at Hermantown helps him in any way developmentally versus moving on. IMO, he would greatly benefit playing at the n...

Relax People. Perky is having a really bad couple of years. He's lost every debate he's entered into since 2012, but he keeps on fightin, so you have to give him credit for that, right? Cathedral has never won anything. And the 200,000 population comment??? Not even close and St. Cloud doesn't have ...
