Re: The Hermantown Thread

Perused 3 top Class A schools schedules and their top bantam schedule. The high school play 25 to 50 percent of their games against AA. Their bantams play 50 to 75% against AA programs. Seems like the thing to do. Hermantown Bantams are at 100%. Not even one measly game against a Class A Bantam tea...

Re: The Hermantown Thread

You would have to ask the MSHSL. I’m just saying this is where it is going. You heard it here first 🤓 These are just my thoughts. The MSHSL is going to whatever they need to, to protect their product. They don’t want Minnesota high school to become a farm system for the entire country/state. It wou...

Re: The Hermantown Thread

Will play DE anytime Randolph will allow it. Most of these sophomores have beem with the program since mites. This class has beaten up DE for years. As far as a trip to state why do people care what class your school is in. IT'S FOR THE KIDS. I'm sure "most" of them have been together since Mites, ...

Re: Hermantown sophomore class

Is it really the parents demanding they remain in A? Which is an odd concept given parents change one year to the next and yet there's been a consistent drumbeat from the majority of parents pounding the ears of the decision makers, "Don't you dare go to AA!!"? Really? So what separated the parents...

Re: Hermantown sophomore class

If a parent wants their kid to play D1 hockey, play at the X, and get a great education. It’s a nice option to have. Kids and parents flock there for a reason. And that reason is that Hermantown has a great school and community. Don’t get me wrong.....I love to beat the snot out of Hermantown in ev...

Re: Hermantown sophomore class

Hermantown now playing 7 10th graders on varsity. Very strong class with huge potential. If Andrews keeps developing these kids look out section 7, The crazy part is this used to be their weakest class in years until Pierce and Lund transferred in and Antcliff open-enrolled. That would be a huge sh...

Re: 7A - Thoughts

Hopefully you're right, because by the time they're juniors, 7A could be theirs for the taking, provided HermAAntown opts up. It looks like Greenway and Eveleth will drop off after two years, Virginia will drop after this season, and I don't see anyone else in 7A loading up with a dazzling class in...

Re: 7A - Thoughts

Duluth East’s BantamAA Team is a feeder to high school, and that’s about it. Since I’ve been around, Randolph commonly brings 2,3, or 4 up to high school every year. I assume Duluth Eas could care less how the Bantam team does. It would be nice, very nice to see those 3 boys stay at Denfeld, but th...

Re: 7A - Thoughts

Denfelds program has been down for the last three years, but lets not forget they were a Top 10 A team from 2012-2015. They also have a really good group of Bantams coming up (assuming all stick with Denfeld), one of the top in the state for Bantam A. Their Bantam group is right there with Hermanto...

Re: Bullying at Hill Murray?

Sad that kids would get ridiculed for working for their tuition. I don't think I've ever heard anything positive about the culture at Hill Murray, unfortunately. On the bright side, it makes it more fun to cheer against them.

Bullying at Hill Murray?

Interesting Article. Seems like a lot of kids have been able to gain eligibility after a transfer in the last few years.

"All of the open-enrollment/transfer data is contained within these 12 pages and all over the forum if you really want to see it. Re: The Hermantown Thread

After that (like all youth hockey associations) you play those teams that you are competitive with or have a long-standing, traditional rivalry and are a practical drive. Exactly, which is why they can't schedule 7A teams at youth. All of the other 7A teams play each other home and home throughout ...

Re: The Hermantown Thread

Rainier, your quantification of how few games against 7A communities they play as youth players is very much appreciated. Alarming. I've seen them play Edina. If it is beneath them to routinely schedule Virginia and Two Harbors as youth, why play them in HS? They want nothing to do with Class A Hoc...

Re: The Hermantown Thread

=D> I don't know about the players, but I don't believe most of the parents and decision makers want to go AA (but all it takes is a couple to make that decision). There is a different mindset there when it comes to A vs AA when compared with opt-ups like Cloquet, Rapids, and Roseau. The success at ...

Re: Scrimmage scores

I be lookin for any feedback on the Lake Superior Conference jamboree in Duluth tonight KarlEast? Suffice it to say, Hermantown has no business playing single a hockey...and hopefully opts up (like they should have after 2016-2017) following the 2018-2019 season. Not happening. They're staying in S...

Sorry, Didn't mean to come across like I had some big scoop. The guy I talked to doesn't make any decisions and obviously it's one guy's opinion on a message board. All speculation and nothing is official until March. But they're staying in Class A.

Re: The Hermantown Thread

Time to resuscitate this thread. Hermantown should be in AA!!! :D Actually, it will be fascinating to see if they finally make the move. They would likely be top 3 in 7AA most years and instantly become a fan favorite if they do, and if not, it will be fun to watch the statewide disgust multiply as...

Re: Class A Preseason Rankings

I would put Greenway ahead of Cathedral. Greenway may not have the depth of Hermantown or the other AA programs they will face in the regular season but their top two lines should be wicked good. TV timeouts at Amsoil will be their best friend. Hopefully they can break through because this will be t...

Re: The Hermantown Thread

Very clear written by a 218 Duluth writer. No one south of CEC on this list, clearly the writer never travels south out of 218! While the three sophomores' are all very good players, picking them as a section all star is a little bold without playing a game in HS. Guessing there are a few Huskies t...
