Even at 35 games its only adding a game every other week. Looking at it that way I think it seems pretty easy to be honest.

I do not include Tier 3 into any discussion involving junior hockey. If you can pay the fee to be on a team you can play tier 3 somewhere. Doesn't matter hockey background. The numbers are very easy to access. Go look at the USHL draft and NAHL draft from last year. Another statement that was made w...

I believe you will find more MN HS players go straight to D1 College than do Tier 1 Midgets. Which will skew your numbers. Besides numbers wise we are talking about one state vs the rest of the country. Certainly not the best path in MN. You could add all of those (hand full) of kids going straight...

Numbers don't lie, Tier 1 hockey is best path for kids to play junior hockey. Minnesota High School will always have elite talent and move kids on, but is far behind the amount of kids moving on from Midget AAA.

Most AAA teams are made up of local kids until midget age. Bantams most kids aren't moving away from home so they play for their closest teams. Obviously there are examples of the kids playing for teams away from their home but it just isn't as prevelant as at midget level.

Just a follow up for teams close to Minnesota but not in the state. Team ND U16 was really bad. I really thought that they were going to have a strong team because I know quite a few kids from that state were 2000's. I was wrong there. Team Wisconsin U16 team is just ok. 4-5 players looked very stro...

You can find all of the scores by searching NAPHL and looking through U18 and U16. D league teams were bad. Talent level was mostly kids who played JV hockey last year. Magicians teams were worse. Hard to watch. Blades U18 are just ok. Made up of all low end high school players with some JV. Blades ...

Maybe stay up there? ... sounds like Massachusetts needs a lot of help in hockey development and your knowledge may be helpful to them. :D :D :D Pretty sure Mass hockey is alive and wel...

Keep in mind that the a lot of the better MN 18's are not playing either for Team MN. the team Mass sends would be closer to that of a team made up of junior gold kids. The Minnesota teams at least play in the highest league here. Kids from our east are playing completely different leagues than the...

But the best players from Mass are playing AAA
Or prep school. Which is not the same as high school and those kids do not participate in this.

Doesn't the two year age disparity at Bantams exist in every State? In Wisconsin, you have January 01's playing against December 02's, correct? This is the same as a July 2000 playing against a June 2002 in Minnesota. They just use different dates for cutoffs. For instance, in Michigan this year th...

There are Freshmen and even the occasional 8th grader that plays Varsity Hockey with 12th graders. I don't think the size and strength disparity between an 8th grader and a 9th grader is that big of a deal. There are kids a full two years older at this age than other kids. Doesn't the two year age ...

1. Because most teams have their strong 2000 players playing high school allowing other kids to play AA.
2. Because besides the top few teams most organizations don't have enough 2000's and fully developed 01's to play on their AA team. Even Edina had some 01's and 02's that were yet to hit puberty.

Yes. My take is 2000's shouldn't be playing bantams like the rest of the world. The age disparity at bantams translates into a size and strength disparity. If Minnesota Hockey doesn't want 2000 playing high school yet that is fine. Then make a U15 division for that age and then have bantam majors b...

I think you are all wrong about Hank. If he wants to play at the next level he needs to play exactly like he does every night. A tough guy to play against and someone who can stir it up a bit. Junior coaches love those guys. I love his future. Sounds like I need to revisit my youth coaching manual ...

He is not even the best 2000 in the state let alone the country. Maybe 2-3 years ago but he has been passed by a bunch of people. It happens when you play bad hockey all year.

For a message board that normally hates to see kids move on from high school hockey before they graduate I was shocked to see some people liking this rule change. First of all, take the kids out of it that can actually play college at 17 or 18. Those kids are beyond elite and will be playing NHL hoc...

He was dropped by Sioux Falls so he is no longer their property. He is free to be drafted or signed this spring. Is probably a kid who is drafted later in drafts and brought into camp, doesn't make it and goes and plays a year in the NAHL and develops and then plays in the USHL the following year.

Any list that has the second place single A school ahead of the National Champs for U18 Midgets is absurd and doesn't deserve to be posted. You could say, look at this group of numbers did with an order of teams, but to try to justify how great Minnesota High School Hockey is by it seems like a stre...
