I would not mind whatsoever the Hawks stay in A for the playoffs. It's kinda fun living and driving through the most dominant hockey program ever in A hockey. Hermantown is making history. It would be nice to live through Hermantown and cheer for them if they were truly a homegrown program that jus...

I don't think anyone should just assume that Hermantown will opt up to AA. They already play a AA schedule during the season and then get the automatic trip to State where they are the favorites to win every year. That is why so many of the top kids from other Associations open-enroll there. Withou...

Didn't his other son play for him? Yes Tony did play for the Gophers while Mario attended Notre Dame. In Mario's first year at Notre Dame he was a top 6 forward and powerplay guy as a freshman. If he were to come to Minnesota and play that role people would be up in arms saying that he's only playi...

Lucia is such a crappy coach that his own kid didn't want to play for him. Yeah as a college kid I'd sure want my dad over my shoulder watching everything I was doing. Didn't his other son play for him? Hopefully Lucia will still be there. Hopefully he gets to stay as long as he wants too.

Re: Boys NIT

Team MN Seniors advance to finals with 13-0 win over Team Massachusetts. Team Mass goes 0-3-0 on the weekend scoring 1 goal and giving up 29. What a sad performance. Time for Mass to wake up and start developing young players. To be fair I'm pretty sure the Mass team is only high schoolers. No prep...

Even section 6 a few years ago wasn't always very competitive now it's arguably the most competitive section come section playoffs and the past 3 years the teams that made it to state took 4th twice and won the consolation championship. Maybe soon one of those sections can do what section 6 did. All...

Wow we recruited two players in the span of 5 years. We must be worse than Bruce Plante and Hermantown. The fact is though that even if they played freshmen next year Apollo would only have around what 12 skaters? As stated before nobody would be willing to schedule Apollo for Varsity only. So appar...

Even if the school board votes no to the co-op between the two schools (which wouldn't surprise me actually). There is no way the MSHSL would let this happen. You can't just leave the Apollo players in limbo with nowhere to go. They'd step in and make sure that some sort of co-op happens.

He sure passed the eyeball test at the tourney and Lucia's guy didn't even play in it. Huskies win again possibly. Just because McLaughlin didn't play doesn't discredit his skills at all. Who will make a run next year? Eden Prairie, Stillwater and Grand Rapids have tons of young players coming back. If Middlested stays then these three could be contenders along with who? Holy Family? BSM? Hill Murray? Edina? Mtka? Wayzata? Who are the way too early favorites next year? Hermantown ea...

This is the first time I have seen Middlestat play. Does he play this motivated all the time? Every time he was on the ice he was dangerous. Congrats to the Trojans on their championship (and for giving me a perfect AA bracket). :D It was a fantastic game, probably the most entertaining final to a neutral in 10+ years outside of East-EP in 2011. As others have noted, the timeout was crucial, and once the Trojans sprung Paterson and Duma...

The Mac holds about 2700 and it will be sold out. Little falls brings the home ice advantage to the MAC. It might actually feel like an away game for the crusaders
