In a related thread on the HS board elliott mentioned that it did not pass but that it may come back up in a future meeting.

Re: Monday, 2/4 Duluth East at Cloquet
Me too...but they’ve done it before. I simply think the northern 7AA teams have went to the well enough times at this point & came out on top...that a team like this years version of Andover is due to flip that script . Yes, like the Elks in '10....oops I meant Elks in '15, that was their year....u...

Re: Monday, 2/4 Duluth East at Cloquet
Everything you said about DE being tough at home in the playoffs is true & they very well may win 7AA in the end. But Andover is REALLY GOOD...so we shall see 😉 Not to mention that Duluth's arenas in the section playoffs aren't in Andover's head. Like some teams.  I would conside...

My mind went straight to a combo that was more of a Marv Levy/Jim Kelly combination: Doug Woog/Phil Housley

Re: The Hermantown Thread
I guess there are buses leaving early and fanning out throughout the area every morning to pick up only good hockey players. They looked really hard and found 34 players to try out this year. I hear they somehow have this huge metropolitan area of 150000 people to choose from. Elk River had 36 kids...

Re: Minnesota Hockey cut-off dates
There were some comments that led me to believe that this may come up again, perhaps at the June meting. Out of curiosity, are there MN Hockey Board members that have June born kids? Board priorities and topics, at any level (local, state, etc.), are often influenced by board members that have a do...

It's great that you put this info out on this forum for all of us to see, I appreciate it. Just want to make that clear before I complain. :P If MN Hockey wants it's members to come to meetings to voice opinions/concerns on topics of significance, why don't they email blast their membership to let ...

Re: Minnesota Hockey cut-off dates
This. If the date is going to move, match the school grade date. It is the only logical date for a community based league that feeds into a high school league . I'm not sure how anybody could argue against that. This is one of the easy ones Elliott. Don't let them screw it up. So what date is that?...

Re: Minnesota Hockey cut-off dates
Here's another question I would have: If MN Hockey is considering this in order to benefit the June born kids, what does MN Hockey have against the May born kids. Why would you want to put those kids at even more of a disadvantage than they currently have? Does MN Hockey like June kids more than the...

Re: Minnesota Hockey cut-off dates
Just so I'm clear - MN hockey wants to go from a two month gap between hockey and school age cutoff, to a three month gap between hockey and school age cutoff? Or am I reading that wrong? No, you are reading it right. MH is considering it, at a request of some members. Let me guess. A few parents w...

Re: The Hermantown Thread
The problem with hockey is that school enrollment does not mean much. The quality of the youth program is the most determining factor (and ability to keep kids in your program/high school) that really matters. Absolutely. Enrollment only matters to those very few that are trying to hide behind it. ...

Re: 7AA 2018-2019
The 2017 ER team was totally in control against GR midway thru the 3rd period, until an ill timed penalty and a shot that was going wide, but the goalie played it & it deflected in off him...THEN the dam broke and they were defeated by a team of “destiny”. In 2015 though...ER was up 3-0 midway thru...

Re: Goals Against
No offense to Andover, because I think they have a legitimate shot at State, but the schedules are no comparison. Not to mention In games vs same opponents Andover has just gotten by teams for their signature wins while Tonka has rolled. I will say this I think Tonka will definitely give up more th...

Re: Gentry Academy D Jake Martin commits to Miami of Ohio
Blueline, they have a Varsity. Strong players are in the school. A lot of speculation as to what they'll do next season, but I haven't heard anything conclusive. The team is VERY VERY good and will continue to win games no matter what level. With a record of 3-5 I don't know that I would say their ...

Re: Gentry Academy D Jake Martin commits to Miami of Ohio
The thing making Gentry so interesting is they have a school, they have a Varsity (MSHSL), and they have the players in the school. While they are playing a national Midget schedule this year, next...? Two different teams. If you look at the MSHSL roster and the 15U Tier 1 roster, different kids. M...
