Re: Will there be high school hockey for 2020-2021?

Wrong. Total B! As a nurse when we walk into a room tgat is droplet virus such as CV is. We mask in a normal hospital mask and when these guidelines are followed not one case has been reported. It is when people go in the room for just a second to turn on a monitor or stop an IV pump that people ge...

Re: Will there be high school hockey for 2020-2021?

Now each JURISDICTION is going to have to work through it. They're going to have to figure out exactly, you know, we've given guidance. And that's just what it is, it's guidance. I've said it’s guidance to help facilitate the opening of schools. And I don’t want to see it be as a guidance that's a ...

Re: Will there be high school hockey for 2020-2021?

This is directly from the article! When it says each jurisdiction will have to work through how to open is referencing online, hybrid, and back to normal. In places with high cases might have to do hybrid or online and those with few cases may be back to normal. One size will not fit all when openi...

Re: Will there be high school hockey for 2020-2021?

Some good info in there, absolutely! Ok the first paragraph of the article is a great place to start. It states that if everyone wears a mask they would feel very comfortable opening the schools. IF, everyone wears a mask. IS everyone wearing a mask? As I have said previously if you go to the bathr...

Re: Will there be high school hockey for 2020-2021?

Try using data from significant sources. Whenever I find data I take a good look at which site I’m on. LA Times? Try .org sites. Medical sites For starters. Newspapers don’t rank anywhere near top of reliable sources. Try CDC, MN Dept of Health. Or a medical journal and get back to us. Alright Hunt...

First, to OldManRiver... I’m sorry, so the Buffalo principle didn’t state it exactly the way YOU think she should’ve but, when you, Goldy, grindian, and 7Times, have to actually put YOUR fannies and livelihoods on the actual line from a decision-making standpoint, we’ll see how YOU react. You guys ...

Re: Will there be high school hockey for 2020-2021?

Agreed GR. I will add that if we are going to close schools and activities we at least have to be honest with ourselves about the reasons for doing it. We are 4 months in now and there hasn’t been a single school aged kid that has died in MN. Are we closing schools for their safety and out of their...

Re: Will there be high school hockey for 2020-2021?

Two epidemiologists that wrote an article in the NYT with a study that suggests our lockdowns were/are likely too harsh. Here is a quote, "Forget about maintaining — or, if infections resurge, resuming — sweeping measures designed to stem the virus’s spread in all forms. Just focus on stopping the s...

Re: Will there be high school hockey for 2020-2021?

Also, I would like to verify that even if schools and activities open this fall your kid will be staying home and not participating? With a vaccine not likely by September I am sure you have already made that decision and are planning for home school. Just want to make sure. I wouldn't want anyone n...

Re: Will there be high school hockey for 2020-2021?

First and foremost, as someone who spent 20 plus years taking an oath to defend the Constitution, I'm all about maintaining individual freedoms. Still, I'm sorry but the way I was raised, the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few or the one. As I stated in my last post -- as well as numer...

Re: Will there be high school hockey for 2020-2021?

Hunter: Nothing in my comments weighed in on whether the guidelines were right or wrong. The guidelines may, or may not, be necessary for public health and safety. My point was about our individual freedoms and the rule of law. And who should be making these decisions. We live in a representative R...

Re: Will there be high school hockey for 2020-2021?

What would be your opinion if it were to be proven that child to adult transmission is extremely rare? There is some pretty good preliminary evidence that is suggesting this. Notably in Iceland (where they never shut schools down) there is not one documented case of transmission from child to adult....

Re: Will there be high school hockey for 2020-2021?

For those interested in comparing COVID19 deaths to other causes of deaths this article has some good data modeling that really kind of contextualizes things (and does so by age). This is a few weeks old now but I am guessing most of the takeaways from the article are still fairly accurate. You coul...

Re: CoVid-19

7Time. You are not only dragging your name in the mud with this stuff but your community by association! This is a real joke of a statement. Roseau county has one case and it was probably a month ago. We have been on lockdown for two months now. For our county this shutdown jumped the gun big time....

Re: CoVid-19

Could you think for a minute about how many people are in contact with healthcare providers every day. Probably 90% of the population. You seriously are asking everyone who is in contact with healthcare people to stay home. So healthcare professionals and all their friends get punished! Their famil...

Re: CoVid-19

You win the argument, because I don't want to argue this anymore. This was an avoidable catastrophe, on both the health and economic fronts. A self-inflicted wound. The lack of leadership and commitment astounding. Germany, New Zealand, South Korea, even Poland and Denmark committed to test, trace ...

OMG. 7Time! You did tell nurses to stay home yesterday! All I can say is OMG . I am terrified of the lack of knowledge by people like 7Time and some others. I listed things that are opening up. To show there is a light at the end of the tunnel and it won’t be 12 months of lockdown. We will get back...

Re: CoVid-19

Point is to show you 7Time how little it takes to spread this thing. It will run its course but we can slow the curve. Common good to take precautions. If that is the case and all we can do is "slow the curve" did NYC really have it that bad? Keep in mind they never overwhelmed their healthcare sys...

Re: CoVid-19

Your "wonderful example" causes me to believe that you feel it's in our best interest to be locked up for, say 12 to 18 months, until a FDA approved vaccine is on the market. Does it also mean that you expect every man, woman, and child to get the vaccine? If so, good luck with that as their are so...

I found several documents stating Minnesota has 240 ICU beds. Currently 180 of those beds are being used. Trending last week ICU beds being used 118 135 155 166 182 Look at number infected over last week 500 400 400 500 600 700. Stay at home for common good! We have not reached the plateau yet! Yea...
