Certainly not just a MN issue. This is today’s society.

Re: MN NAHL teams

GoalieDad, thanks for your hard work. A couple of adds to your list: Bergsland Fargo (Wayzata) Pitlick Omaha (Chaska) Reiners Waterloo (Edina) Not sure but maybe this thread should be moved to the Junior Forum. Not much activity there so I like it on this one though. GB Adding a couple more from Ch...

Re: 2019 Elite League Rosters

Been said by multiple high school coaches that often goalies have a bit of an adjustment period after playing in HSEL once season starts. Their game can struggle early in HS season because of it. That strikes me as counter intuitive--help me understand. Are you saying that because EL goalies are se...

Re: Early Departures 2019-2020

You can add Bennett Zmolek - Rochester Century to the list. He made the 23 man roster for Cedar Rapids USHL. If anyone wants to comb through them to see if there is any other breaking news, feel free! Otherwise I will be updating the rest of the USHL Rosters on EP Tonight and I will circle back. (I...

Re: Transfers for 2019-20 season

School size and education was absolutely a factor here. However, these issues were known going into the original move to Minnetonka, so clearly hockey and the fact that the skippers were favorites also played a major role in the first transfer. I truly believe that the transfer back has more to do ...

Re: Transfers for 2019-20 season

School size and education was absolutely a factor here. Yeah because if Tonka is known for anything it's a bad education. Not what I said. Anyhow, “good education” and “bad education” for describing an entire school is ridiculous. Different schools fit different students well... differently. Some t...

Re: Moving to Minnesota for HS Hockey

just let it go scout...let it go......I'm not going to argue with you on if the tournament is a good one or not..But to try and convince me that one weekend in quebec is worth giving up a whole season of association hockey is laughable at best. You're better than that.. Minnscout is just a tad bias...

Could we get a report from our East Metro friends on key private school transfers, since school is about to start?

Re: Transfers for 2019-20 season

I agree with you ClassA guy...he's not moving from AA to A to dominate anything. There are 3 D1 commits on SCC already with two more in the wings...Mack is a very good player, but he's not even attempting to move to dominate his own A team. He will be "one of the guys". The rules are rules and they...

Re: Transfers for 2019-20 season

Elliott Can you remember a high profile case were MSHSL actually enforced this rule? ie a family or school was caught red handed? This deal is somewhat unique in that the kid is wanting to go back and play with his buddies and the only reason they left in the first place was a job transfer. For tha...

Re: Worst AA/A sections 1-8, 2019

Sorry I didn’t mean to start an economic discussion here. Just trying to say that there are already a lot of teams opting up to AA in the north, and that’s a lot less stable than school growth (though as we’ve seen in the metro school growth isn’t always stable over the long term either). I would ag...

Godly is right on this one. While all of us high school hockey fanatics think the history is too important to change, we have to remember that the state high school league does not take this into account, and they certainly aren’t hockey fanatics. 7AA in particular, but also a bit of 8AA rely on te...

Re: Serious question around HS players and drugs/alcohol

So not like any other season, I have heard of a few players, from high profile commits to role players, getting in trouble or being placed in treatment programs/DUI's/ etc.. How do or should these be handled by the programs/HS league? Do off-season out of school issues face consequences? I am not l...

EP is a top 3 team now in my opinion. May be a Mr. Hockey Finalist. GB Agreed. Huge get for an EP team that was already considered a top 10 team but had some questions on depth. This helps alleviate that concern. On a sadder note, is it just me or are the out of state transfers getting more and mor...

He’ll now disappear into the large pool of junior hockey and just be another player trying to make it. Get rid of the geographic bs and create more even teams. Have a North team if need be for travel purposes. Eliminate the Team CCM concept. Play like 6 games? Lame. Just my two cents. 👏👏👏 They don’t even follow the geography really as it is besides north and kind of GP. Just end the facade and move ...

Stramel presumably flew home from 15s Nat Camp today, so available for tryouts Sunday to be a rare 9th grade Eliter
From my fairly limited previous viewing, he should make it. Though I would say as an incoming 9th grader that a tryout, even if a formality, is probably best.

There are absolutely some on this list who should have been on teams already like Jackson Blake and Max Burkholder (when was the last time a Bantam Player of the Year had to tryout for elite league?
