Re: NDTP Invites MN edition

4. It was a good day one for the NDTP...It will be very interesting to see if that trend continues over the next couple years. And if so, will that have any effect on more Minnesota kids choosing NDTP versus Minnesota High School hockey....Will there be a day where 5-6 Minnesota kids play on one ND...

Re: Transfers for 2019-20 season

Lots of scouts come to those games vs Hutch and Litchfield huh? Will agree that HF is run like a college though... “commitment” announcements on Twitter, promises made and unkept, players leaving early to find the next thing for them, etc. Fire is just mad Brody Lamb chose Dodge County over his scho...

Re: Transfers for 2019-20 season

Biggest clue of this being true was Blueblood saying it wasn’t his hometown team, and then went suddenly quiet on this thread when, according to Westy’s timeline, he direct messaged the person whose hometown team the kid was on. Or it’s just a coincidence! Where do you think Blueblood's hometown is...

Re: Transfers for 2019-20 season

Both Mittelstadts to Kennedy. It fits. Hurts EPS chance of winning state and gives Kennedy a great chance of winning at A. It’s also highly unusual!

Re: Early Departures 2019-2020

Minnetonka had announced Bobby Brink as their captain last spring as well. Not saying I am in the know on where Pino or Biondi will end up, but I wouldn’t use the captain label as definitive evidence of staying.

Re: Transfers for 2019-20 season

I wonder if there's one soon be junior out there who saw the success BB from Minnetonka had in the USHL last year and thinks that may be the best route for them as well There is only one 10th grader from last year’s Minnetonka team you could be referring to here, and he’s not ready. Good player, bu...

Re: 9 Minnesotans make Hockey News Top 120 for the upcoming 2019 NHL Draft

8+1 is correct. Crazy how far Helleson has dropped (if this list is accurate). If I had to guess I’d say he goes higher than this, but he may be one of the rare cases where going to the NTDP actually hurt his draft stock. The difference in trajectory between he and Jackson Lacombe, who stayed at Sh...

Re: Transfers for 2019-20 season

Not to be too cynical, but pretty much every transfer between classes is going to involve a fairly high profile player and team with X implications. You don’t often hear about a transfer from Waconia to Shakopee

Re: Transfers for 2019-20 season

And correct - you can play through your senior year and play college hockey at the D1 level as a goalie. But you will have to play 1-2 years of juniors prior to that commitment way more often than not. Evenson was on his way to D3 until a nice NAHL run landed him at Army with little to spare time w...

Re: Transfers for 2019-20 season

Goalies in general commit at older age typically while playing Junior, it has nothing to do with MN HS Hockey. ⬆️⬆️ This 👏 A better metric to compare would be if MN HS goalies move on to Tier 1 or Tier 2 juniors at a higher or lower rate than full season U16 or U18 AAA goalies. My guess is it would...

Re: Transfers for 2019-20 season

62, some of those names are also possible I suppose , since R Knights will be in the mix for a state championship and many kids will be trying to knock on the door, but Im thinking Section 6 instead (sorry, earlier reference to Section 2 in error, I keep mentally connecting to the old days ) Ahh se...

Re: Transfers for 2019-20 season

FatCat , but did KP say “ as of right now?” No info on stealing another top young Bantam from a Section 2 competitor ? Not that this is always a dealbreaker, but it would be a gutsy and probably stupid choice to go to BSM right now if you’re a top 9th-12th grader. Almost no spots available to play ...

Consistent with my info, but thought Holy Family might still be last minute possibility Yep been rumors abound for some time. Sounds like Jack Stark, goalie from Chaska is leaving to U16 in Sioux Falls. Interesting move to say the least... given the senior he split time with last year is now gone.

Re: USHL Draft on May 6th

While probably a rare event I do know of a goalie who in 2018 told USHL teams he wasn’t interested because he was going to college full time. I suspect there are kids who see engineering, medicine, or other things as their future and not hockey. Maybe not consistently true to USHL teams, this is 10...

Posting here since it doesn’t really even deserve its own thread, but it’s always a nice preview to some of the top players for NEXT YEAR’s ushl draft. WHL draft last Thursday (6 MN 04s selected): Cruz Lucius-Gentry, 8th rd-161 Seattle Jack Seaverson-Chaska, 9th rd-197 Vancouver Charlie Stramel-Rose...

Re: Top MN Hockey This Weekend

The one goalie thing is what gets me. Not as sure at the 17 level, but there were at least 3 at the 16 level who are national camp caliber. One didn’t have the “stats,” and they obviously aren’t going to send 3, but at least do 2?
