Re: State Tournament Seeding

This isn't rocket surgery. Either the MSHSL finally wises up and states that no private schools will play class A hockey. Or, if you want to let private schools play class A hockey, then those schools cannot play class AA teams during the regular season unless it's a conference game or in a holiday ...

Re: Coaching changes 2020/2021

Picking nits but I was referring to regular season. As far as BSM goes, they were the only team in class AA to not have a single point come from a senior during the regular. I think the focus should be on the state tourney - should be a good one with a couple good quarterfinal games, and some good c...

Re: Coaching changes 2020/2021

Will be interesting to see how they replace all of the graduates. During the regular season the team got 90 goals from players in grades 10-12. Seniors accounted for 87 of the 90.

Re: Two great games Tuesday...

Maggie & Rory still around for Tonka or have they left already for their national team duties? If they're already gone, i dont see them being able to keep langseth & kuipers off the board. If they are still around, could see a 3-2, 2-1 Tonka win. When out there together, the best D pairing i've seen...

Re: Games Fri-Sat November 22-23

Buffalo goalie had a great game on Friday. No doubt had to go in on Saturday to get a new chest protector, as the BSM shot chart was almost 80% in the stomach/core area, but she kept the Bison in it. On another note, Buffalo has a really great setup for the team if you haven't been to the Buffalo Ci...

Re: Friday Night Lights

Gonna go with Blake 6-2. That top line is the best in the state. Scary good. Tonka gives up nothing, i'll go 3-0 Skippers. Will abstain from the Miracle Gold/Machine reunion game, but maybe not having Melsness in the lineup tonight due to the Messner hit Tuesday would not help the hosts. Hope the wi...

Re: BSM vs. Breck

Not sure I'd use the word "power" just yet, but BSM is a top-20 team, maybe 15, in class "AA" without question. Even first period but Breck was up 1-0 after one on a PPG from Zumwinkle that BSM goalie Rose Beeman would want back. Rose, incidentally, signed her NLI this morning. Shots were 7-7 after ...

Re: Pre-season scrimmage schedules

They were posting scores but it was hit n miss. Edina beat BSM 5-0 Edina beat Farmington Wayzata beat Farmington 3-0 Farmington beat BSM 2-1 BSM & Breck tied 2-2. In talking to some other team's parents, sounds like most teams had their final rosters on the ice yesterday. BSM brought 19 skaters and ...

U19 - Rink A
White (14-4-1) vs Black (12-6-2)

U16 - Rink C
Black (13-4-3) vs Grey (11-5-4)

Both games at P.I.C. and start at 8:15pm. As was mentioned, winners get an auto bid into National Tournament; losers will find out in about 5 months if they receive an at-large bid into the tournament.

Re: Girls NIT Dscussion

Having watched this summer/fall from the National Camp in St. Cloud through the NIT this past weekend, at least at the '04 birth year, the best hockey overall is from Minnesota and it ain't close. The teams that were having success in St. Cloud this summer, in terms of wins and losses, were the ones...

U16 Black is going to missing a good handful of their players Saturday at SSM, especially on the back end.

Re: Elite league

Not life critical, but the U16 Grey team has played other 16 teams this Fall. They played U16 Black on Sunday and beat them 5-2. Not sure how the game flow was as Emma wasn't there due to other commitments, so i didn't see the game. Grey only has three sophomores on its roster and Black only has 1 j...

Re: High school programs #s in Elite league

Since we're yakking about the elite league, let's bring it back to high school... What teams have strong representation across the full league? Out of a league total of roughly 160 kids (including the freshman on Gemini), I count (totally eyeballing - these may be off by 1 or 2): Edina - 13 (9 on 1...

Same on the girls side. Probably have 4 teams rated in the top-15 in the state when the section rolls around.

Re: Class AA rankings

Moose - Not sure i would classify Maddie Wethington, Izzy Daniel, Maddy Tix, etc, as not "losing much". Not disagreeing with your team selections, as 6AA will again be the cream of the high school crop, but Blake lost it's #2, #4 & #6 point producers, not to mention the Ms. Hockey winner and another...

Re: Elite league

Spoken with people involved with the League and have never really gotten a straight answer to the question regarding the girls side. From the email that arrived it looks like players have until mid-August to register so i doubt any "final" rosters will be available until Fall sports start practicing.

Curious if anyone knows why they would send 10 forwards per team to the National Camp? Why not 9 or 12? Thanks.
