Re: NTDP Eval Camp

51 Do you realize you just called a ton of great Minnesota hockey players complete morons I believe 51 said to “pass up a spot”. How many great MN hockey players were offered a spot and declined to play ntdp over high school hockey instead? I am sure there is maybe someone that I haven’t heard abou...

Re: Moving from AA to A

My thoughts would be looking at the least most of the Bottom 7 & 8 seeds in AA are same teams every year that never get out of the 1st round. Instead of having those routs do top 48 to AA gives the #1 and #2 seeds get a bye in AA Sectionals which again would be basically what is happening now And ma...

Re: Moving from AA to A

Great Point Lee! Ok here we go another Stab at it with AA having 64 teams (8 per Section) & A having 80 teams (10 per section). Had to look at MSHSL Map to make the AA ones lots of Metro line Cutting: Class AA 1AA (8 teams) Farmington Lakeville North Lakeville South Owatonna Rochester Century/John M...

FYI, none of this is really new. Capture.PNG I think this post from 5 years ago deserves context. First off, no dog in the fight in this argument and I have no clue what is going on currently in EGF other than they have a great youth program right now. I like you rainier had been told EGF was getti...

2019 I believe What I was thinking and it would line up with the wave of great teams they have now coming into the HS teams here as they will be a Powerhouse for the next decade plus looking at the youth! Hope this story gets more pub when they start winning titles at the High School level. Its dif...

EAST GRAND FORKS PIONEERS NEW SQUIRT MODEL Minnesota is a state filled with hockey hotbeds, yet for some reason, East Grand Forks isn’t always the first community that comes to mind when it comes to on-ice success. But it should be. Few other communities can match what East Grand Forks has accompli...

Re: The Rise of the North in Coming Years?

Would love to see Hibbing make a run at a title or two. Would give me renewed interest. It will be interesting to see if a team besides Mahtomedi, SCC, Warroad, EGF or maybe Orono can win an A title. Outside of Hibbing looking at the youth I think Delano is your other best bet. Others in mix: Thief...

Re: The Rise of the North in Coming Years?

Youth hockey success in a single year may not be a great indicator of high school success. I watched the Peewee AA and A state tournaments are in Shakopee this weekend. Even on the best teams it’s likely half or fewer of the players will make the varsity team in the future. High School success is m...

The big question is will the boys stick around to try for the repeat?
That is a big question right hearing they are staying but its long summer if the Big 3 are back next year watch out with the STMA transfer ready to step in at Goalie. They will be a nice squad

:D As you point out, Hibbing will close the gap with Hermantown significantly, Warroad will take a solid step back (and may not be the favorite in 8A for the foreseeable future), and Northfield is hit hard by graduation, yet is still the 1A favorite. Hopefully we'll see some new blood at the tourne...

Two official coach change threads. Can they be merged?
This is my fault I created this back in Jan with Faribault had the opening. I know the coaching change is BP's thing.

This thread can be deleted.

This is great. I did a little digging to see how much scoring top A teams were returning, and I'd agree with most of your rankings. The only things I'd predict are: -EGF will be #1 with a bullet. They should be incredibly deep. -Northern Lakes higher, as high as #6. -Monticello higher, as high as #...
