A Different Twist
This is a great topic, because it has affected a lot of kids. I have this question if anyone can answer it.

Is there a reason why JV hockey games have only 2 refs, and varsity 3? BTW, even Bantam A have 3 refs. I can say for fact a lot goes on in a JV game that the refs don't see because they...

Re: Relationship between High School and Association Hockey
HockeyDad:

I liked the post and the reference to HS getting more involved with the association programs. If my memory serves me right, Jefferson sets aside a night during the hockey season where the varsity and jv players get on the ice with the young players in their association. What a rush...

Re: Burnsville Games Today
NPGandy:

Burnsville is a very good team! Very impressed. Had the opportunity to watch them play Chaska prior to playing EP. Best game I saw in the tournament. Went right down to the wire. Not gonna be an easy game for any team in the Lake this year.

Regarding EP being gassed, I think t...

Re: elite leaugue rosters
Finn,

You missed the point. Yes coaches should be telling kids what they need to improve on. And I'm sure most do. This was about about the kids and programs available if they want to work for them.

I gotta believe that good hockey players out there have no idea of these types of progr...

Puck63

Always enjoy reading ur insightful posts. I would like to make a suggestion though to the selection process. Perhaps it's flawed.

Since HS coaches are involved and the "selection" process takes course during the season, would it not make sense for coaches to tell their...

puckhead63

thanks for the great post. I think many have wondered about the process.

I'm curious though, it appears kids are evaluated thru their winter seasons so the candidates are made 6-7 months in advance, or did I read that wrong?

Just A "Rumor"
This was just a rumor so take it for that. I heard that Joey Miller of Wayzata may transfer to Minnetonka this fall. Great hockey player no doubt about it. Anyone heard of this happening.

For the record doesn't affect my kid at all so no bias, just curious.

Puck63 and NpGandy:

Gotta agree 100% with Chaska being in the mix, They have given EP fits over the years and their program is only getting stronger.

Regarding EP's defense, I think they got hurt last year by injuries and some position shifts. Re: section 6AA
Over the years, the group of kids who will be seniors and juniors comprising EP and Jefferson's teams have matched up very well. I think the Lake Conference is no giveaway for any team. It will boil down to the head to head matchups between the supposed favorites and then who gets upset. In the Lake...

Puckster.

I was just responding to the thread. sorry. but regarding d-3 schools, my daughter is attending one as a "recruited" gymnast. Nope no scholarship, so about $20,000 per year without academic aid, but having the blast of her life....she is competing in Nationals this weekend...

Harvard Costs
Puckster,

When I saw some of the posts here ($25,000 "In Need" Assistance at Harvard) I gulped! Initial reaction was to respond based on hockey. Well, I did some homework because with my kid, a junior (who plays hockey but probably won't because of size in college) receiving letters...

Re: EP vs Wayzata
gotta agree with you puckhead. EP probably played the best hockey I have seen them play tonight. They were clicking on all 8 cylinders! Re: charity game
Zoe,

Geez u sound bitter! Hey if some NHL'ers want to play a game for charity I say go for it. They understand that the lockout took a great deal away from the sport at the pro level this year, and maybe this is an opportunity to make some young kids eyes sparkle like they do if they get a ch...
