After looking at the LPH thread and the QRF rankings and the 1AA thread I have this to say... On 2-1-08 The top 25 AA teams in the QRF are spread out over 4 sections. Section reps in the QRF AA top 25 1AA 0 2AA 4 3AA 3 4AA 3 5AA 3 6AA 1 7AA 3 8AA 3 That isn't a bad split. Granted the 8AA teams are ...

The game is about FUN. No player will develope to their maximum potential if they aren't having FUN. That being said, ALL girls should be playing on girls only teams by age 9. When they are mites the gender differences aren't yet as pronounced, but by the time they are 8,9 or 10. They know they are ...

Section 1AA has proven over the years they can't play with the better teams. I think their record at the state tournament these last 5 years is 1-14. And that was when Mayo was "strong." I bet Section 1AA doesn't win a State tournament game this year either. If I lose I promise not to post anything ...

Why is it that teams like Elk River and Irondale are ranked highly by the newspapers but are ranked much lower by QRF? If Irondale played Minnetonka, who would win? An Old Potential Option

http://www.whamhockey.org/classifieds/players.asp#teams For those who don't know. Minnesota has one of the best amateur Women's League's in the world. Athletes can play for a variety of teams all in different leagues based upon desired level of competition. Many former DI players end up playing on t...

These are my thoughts on some of the more interesting key matchups starting the week of January 21st. I thought I would start this a little early in case anyone would like to see other promising key games added to the list. If so post below and I will edit my first post here and add them in. It is too bad that KRACH isn't around to give us another poll.

Without KRACH I think QRF is the best measurement. It seems to understand SOS better than the human rankers.

Pretty soon we can throw these rankings out and start the second season!!!!

This Tournament is a huge dissappointment!!! Why do the best Minnesota high school players need to leave their teams in the middle of a short 25 game season to waste their time against Russia, Switerland etc. These 18 year olds should be in school. I don't think QRF is very accurate if they can't even get the score of the game right. Its happened more than once to Edina. Just look at this. Dec '07 Time Opponent(s) Result Rec. QRF would be better if it removed the penalty for the class A teams.

Teams like Blake, Breck, Roseau and Warroad are much better than every team in Section 1AA, yet your "objective" computer program hurts those who play the strong A teams and rewards those who play weak AA teams.

Too much fuss about coaching turnover

I think too much fuss is made over the coaching turnover and how we are losing all these "good coaches." IMO most of these coaches are not so good. If someone losses 30 or more games in two years, they better take a look in the mirror. Turnover happens and the good coaches land on their feet the oth...
