Girls NIT Tournament
MN will be playing in the finals of the National Invitational Tournament today at 2:45 at the Plymouth Ice Center. They have beaten Wi, North Dakota, and the Tri State Icehawks in pool play. Mn has a pretty deep team and hasn't really been challenged although Wisconsin outshot them, but MN won somet...

I actually see this list as good as any. Remember, with any list who do you take off to add? Not to mention there are players that did not make any list that are just as worthy. Here are a few I could easily see there. Stoltz, Peake – Moundsview Sparks – Eagan Eder Zedlick – Stillwater Evenson –Ros...

Warroads repeat comes at the expense of all the youth teams there allstars played for BEFORE THEY MOVED. If they dont repeat, it would serve them all right. Layla better than Karley? really? I think that if you are going to compare Layla and Karley then you are agreeing with most people's opinions....

Warroad was not one of the five with 14U. They decided to have a JV this year instead due to numbers problems. Grand Rapids has not had 14U in at least three years. It's a shame the numbers are down as much as you indicate. I'm guessing the poor economy has had some impact, but that can't be totall...

Re: Duluth East at Cloquet, Thurs 12/16/10
DE (4-1, #5) travels to Cloquet (4-2) to resume NE MN's premier rivalry on Thursday. East has won 4 straight in the series, but Cloquet seems to be on the road back to respectability this year after two very poor seasons, and in this rivalry nothing is ever assured. This game has the added plot lin...

FDorest Lake
Well a 3-3 tie with PHM and pretty even shot total. I think Forest Lake is showing they are a different hockey team this year. Good goaltending, a D1 defenseman, and 3 or 4 other good skaters makes them a decent hockey team. They will beat some good teams this year becasue they are good.

Forest Lake
I was impressed by Forest Lake. Definitely not the Forest Lake team of the past. White is a good goaltender. Hanmer has some help from a couple of talented forwards and some defense. CEC looked a little shaky with some of their matchups, but for the most part the team played and skated hard. The num...

IMO, some of these lists get created by a few parents who like to advertise their kids. They find a few sympathetic posters who also like to advertise their kids and they exchange posts about each other kids and how great their AAA teams are or how great their high school program is. It gets very di...

I don't know who reads these lists and if they really have any effect on try outs. But as a famous sports writer once said if you want to know how a player is going to do in an at bat look at the back of their baseball card. In other words past stats do sometimes indicate how good players are. I li...

elk river
Yea, I don't want to get down on Elk River, but in the 3 games I have seen them play they appeared to be one dimensional. Jonna has good hands, but if the defensman don't play the dangle, they take away much of her game. This is not a knock on her as everyone has holes in their game AND she still is...
